Our happy Mother’s day messages and greetings will help you find the perfect words to thank your mom for all she’s done for you and wish her a wonderful day!
Mother’s day first originated in USA, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in a church in Virginia. Her mother was an activist who cared for wounded soldiers. She also started health clubs to address public health issues.
To honor her mother and all the mothers in the world, who do more than anyone in this world, Mother’s day was started.
However, later Anna Jarvis, claimed that her opinion was misinterpreted and the occasion was commercialised more than the sentiments associated with it.
This day is celebrated in different countries on different days. Each and every mother is special and honourable. Mother does lot of sacrifices to bring up her child and make him a better person.
If there is one relationship in your life that begins even before you are born, it is the relationship with your mother. It is an unspeakable bond that makes you the closest to your mother despite any differences. Mother’s Day is important because it is necessary to show your mother that her selfless love, unfaltering dedication, sleepless nights of looking after you, and unvarying efforts need to be recognized. We are all guilty of taking our mother for granted. All around the globe, messages of love towards the mothers pour in on Mother’s Day. The world unites to recognize the painstaking efforts of one of the most important people in our life – A mother.
Mother’s Day is a celebration of honouring the efforts of a mother that she selflessly puts in to raise her children with utmost love and care. It complements similar celebrations for other family members such as Father’s Day, Grandparent’s Day, Sister’s Day, Brother’s Day, etc. In the US, the celebration began at the behest of Anna Jarvis in the early 20th Century. However, in other cultures such as Greek, Roman, etc, Mother’s Day was a day of celebration and significance that has existed for thousands of years. Usually, In India, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May, each year but in other countries the dates vary.
People on this day celebrate the mothers and the indomitable spirit of Motherhood. People show their gratitude through gifts and deeds to pamper their mother and show them, how thankful they are to have a mother. You can cook for her, giving her some respite from the demanding task of cooking in the kitchen all day long, you can give her a beautiful bouquet of her favorite flowers with a sweet message, you can throw a surprise party for her, you can give her a meaningful gift, or you can pamper her. Gifts and deeds of any kind are beautiful if they are heartfelt and well-thought of.
A mothers contribution cannot be returned back in one day. She is the one who thinks about us and does everything for us lifelong. Her sacrifices cannot be counted, what ever she does, she gives her full efforts and never expects anything in return.
It is our duty to make her feel proud and take care of her, although she never wants to burden us with anything but we must take the responsibility and do everything possible that makes her happy.

According to History.com, Mother’s Day dates back to ancient Greeks and Romans who celebrated in the honour of mother goddesses Rhea and Cybele. However, modern reference to the day can be found in Mothering Sunday, which was the fourth Sunday in Lent celebrated in the UK and some parts of Europe.
The festival was religious in nature as on Mothering Sunday, people used to visit their main church, also known as the mother church.
Finally, the second Sunday of May was designated as Mother’s Day due to the efforts of Anna Jarvis who wrote to political leaders for inclusion of Mother’s Day in the national calendar. Her efforts came to fruit when US President Wilson made Mother’s Day official in 1914.
The occasion is considered important as motherhood is celebrated on this day. People celebrate Mother’s Day by giving presents to their mothers or by doing something special for them. There are a number of things people can do for their mothers if they are living together at the time of the global pandemic.
