PS4 won’t Activate as Primary Issue Fixed

PS4 won’t Activate as Primary Issue Fixed : Activate As Your Primary PS4

Each PSN account can only have one primary PS4 at a time. If you’ve previously activated another PS4 or someone else has used your account to activate theirs.

Activate As Your Primary PS4

There are a few reasons why you might not be able to activate your PS4 as primary:

  1. Another PS4 is already activated as primary on your account: Each PSN account can only have one primary PS4 at a time. If you’ve previously activated another PS4 or someone else has used your account to activate theirs, you’ll need to deactivate that one first.

  2. You’ve reached the activation limit: Sony limits the number of times you can activate and deactivate primary PS4s within a certain timeframe (usually six months). If you’ve exceeded this limit, you’ll have to wait before you can activate your current PS4.

  3. Account issues: There might be a temporary issue with your PSN account or the PlayStation Network itself that’s preventing activation. In this case, try again later or contact PlayStation Support.

  4. Unauthorized access: If you suspect someone else has accessed your account and activated their PS4 as primary, change your password immediately and contact PlayStation Support.

Here’s what you can do to troubleshoot:

• Check your account on a web browser: Go to the PlayStation website and log in to your account. Under “Device Management” or a similar section, you should be able to see which PS4 is currently activated as primary.

• Deactivate other PS4s: If another PS4 is activated, you’ll need to deactivate it either directly on that console or through the website.

• Wait if you’ve reached the limit: If you’ve recently activated and deactivated multiple PS4s, you might need to wait before you can activate your current one.

• Contact PlayStation Support: If you’ve tried everything else and still can’t activate your PS4, reach out to PlayStation Support for further assistance.

Remember: Activating your PS4 as primary is important for several reasons:

  • Offline play: You can play your digital games offline on your primary PS4.
  • Game sharing: Other users on your primary PS4 can access and play your digital games even if you’re not logged in.
  • Automatic downloads: Your primary PS4 will automatically download any pre-ordered games or content you’ve purchased.

In Unix environment there are two system variables PS1 and PS2; used to store the system prompt that can be assigned to any string/characters according to your choice.

Now as per your question Here PS4 is the system prompt say it stores $ as prompt

Now say if you want to change it into a prompt which displays your uname I.e. the username then you follow the following commands

$ PS4 = “value stored in your uname”

e.g.

say your username is “xyz”

then you should type

$ PS4 = “xyz”

Your system will now display

xyz instead of $
