Spectrum Outage Sanford NC : Make Sure You’re Getting Spectrum Outage Alerts

Enable push notifications from the My Spectrum App to alert you when there’s news about an outage in your area.

To enable push notifications:

  1. Open the My Spectrum App and sign in.
  2. Tap Account > Set Notifications Manage Push Notifications.
  3. Tap the toggle button next to Outages to turn push notifications on.

To manage your service notifications settings:

  1. Sign in. You’ll be taken to the Notifications sub-tab within Settings.
  2. Select Manage under Service Notifications.
  3. Use the drop-down menus to update your settings, then select Save.

Troubleshoot Your Equipment Using Your Account

Before troubleshooting, please check to see if you are in an outage by selecting the “Check Outages” button above.

Internet Equipment Troubleshooting

  1. Select the Reset it button below to be taken to your account.
  2. Under the Internet sub tab, choose your equipment from the list.
  3. If you see a “Connection Issue” status next to your equipment, select Troubleshoot.
  4. Select Restart Equipment next to a device.
  5. Select Restart Equipment again.

Voice and TV Equipment Troubleshooting

  1. Select the Reset it button below to be taken to your account.
  2. Select Experiencing Issues? next to your equipment.
  3. If it’s available, select the Reset button. If not, then follow the instructions there.

Stay Connected with Access Points

Outages can be challenging. To stay connected, Spectrum Internet customers can use Spectrum WiFi access points.

Reboot Your Equipment

Sometimes, after electrical power and Spectrum services are restored following an outage, it’s necessary to reboot your Spectrum equipment as the final step in restoring services.

Spectrum Receiver (Cable Box)

Unplug your receiver for 60 seconds, then plug it back in.

Gateway or Standalone Modem

  1. Unplug the power cord from the gateway or modem and remove any batteries.
  2. Wait 30 seconds, and then reinsert any batteries and reconnect the power cable.
  3. Wait 2 minutes to ensure that the reset is complete. Your modem’s connection lights should be solid (not blinking).
  4. Check your internet connection to make sure it’s working.

Modem and Your WiFi Router

  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the modem and remove any batteries.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the WiFi router.
  3. Wait 30 seconds, and then reinsert any batteries and reconnect power to the modem.
  4. Allow at least 2 minutes to ensure that the reset is complete. Your modem’s connection lights should be solid (not blinking).
  5. Reconnect the power to your WiFi router. Allow at least 2 minutes for your router to finish turning on.
  6. Check your internet connection to make sure it’s working.
