Parshuram Jayanti Wishes in Marathi : Parshuram Jayanti is a famous festival of Hindus. This festival is celebrated on the third day of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Baishakh i.e. Tritiya Tithi according to the Hindu calendar.
On the day of Parshuram Jayanti, fasting as well as procession and satsang of Sarva Brahmin are organized.
It is believed that Lord Parashurama incarnated as the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Like Hindu festivals, bathing in the holy river before sunrise on this day is considered auspicious. After bathing, the devotees wear fresh and clean worship clothes. On this day, devotees worship Lord Vishnu by offering sandalwood, basil leaves, kumkum, incense sticks, flowers and sweets. Fasting on the day of Parashuram Jayanti is considered to be extremely important. Because it is believed that by fasting on this day, the devotees get a son. Devotees who fast do not consume pulses or cereals on this day.
Also celebrated as Akshaya Tritiya under the Hindu calendar, Parshuram Jayanti marks the day of birth of Lord Parshuram and falls in the month of Vaishakh.
The sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Lord Parshuram (literal meaning, Rama with an axe) descended on earth to save it from the barbarity of the Kshatriyas. The day is celebrated as Parshuram Jayanti in most parts of the country.
As per the Hindu calendar, Parashurama Jayanti falls on the tritiya (third day) of shukla paksha in Vaisakh. According to the Gregorian calendar, the day occurs in April or May.
Devotees observe a fast, beginning the night before and through the day of tritiya. Taking a holy bath before sunrise is considered auspicious.
Before worship, devotees wear fresh and tidy puja vastra (worship clothing) and thereafter offer prayers to Lord Vishnu along with chandan (sandalwood), tulsi (holy basil) leaves, kumkum, incense sticks, flowers and sweets to the deity.
It is believed that devotees observing a fast on this day are blessed with a male child.
Those who observe fast refrain from consuming pulses or cereals and are only allowed to consume milk products and fruits (satvik food).
