How To Use facebook com Recover : Forgot Password | Can't Log In | Facebook

How To Use facebook com Recover : It’s pretty easy to regain access with a little bit of work. Here’s everything you need to know on how to recover your Facebook account.

Nowadays, most people are logged into social media in more than one location. Whether it’s a phone and a laptop or a laptop and a tablet, you might have multiple access points to recover your Facebook account.

How do I get Facebook recovery login codes to use when I don't have my phone?

If you've turned on two-factor authentication, you can get ten recovery login codes to use when you're unable to use your phone.

To get your codes:

1. Click in the top right of Facebook.

2. Select Settings & privacy, then click Settings.

3. Click Security and login.

4. Under the Two-factor authentication section, click Use two-factor authentication. You may need to re-enter your password.

5. Next to Recovery codes, click Setup then Get codes. If you've already set up recovery codes, you can click Manage > Show codes.

You can print or write down the ten codes that appear. You'll only be able to use each code once. If you run out of codes or lose them, you can request new ones by clicking Get New Codes.

How do I get my security code for logging in to Facebook?

If you've turned on two-factor authentication, there are several ways you can get your security code or approve your login attempt:

• You can use a 6-digit text message (SMS) code sent to your mobile phone.

• With a security code from your Code Generator.

• By tapping your security key on a compatible device.

• With a security code from a third-party app that you've associated with your Facebook account.

• You can approve your login attempt from a device that we already recognise.

• With one of your printed recovery codes.

Use Trusted Contacts to recover your Facebook account

One of the best ways to recover your Facebook account is with a little help from your friends. Facebook calls this option Trusted Contacts, but it only works if you still have some access to your profile. You’ll have to list a few friends as trusted contacts for the next time you get locked out. They can then help you get back in. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Navigate to the Settings menu at the top right corner of your Facebook page.

2. Open the Security and Login tab and scroll down to the Setting up extra security options.

3. Select Choose 3 to 5 friends to contact if you get logged out.

4. As the name suggests, you can now choose a few users from your list of friends to receive instructions should you get locked out.

5. Now you can proceed through the Forgot password options until you are asked for an email or phone number. You can choose that you no longer have access to these and instead enter the name of a Trusted Contact.

6. From there, both you and your Trusted Contact will receive instructions on how to recover your Facebook account.

I got a message from Facebook saying that account recovery has started on my account. What is this and what do I do?

If you received an email from Facebook called Facebook Account Recovery and you think someone started this process without your permission, please take the following steps to secure your account:

1. Immediately call any friends listed in the message and tell them to ignore any messages they receive.

2. Secure your account by changing your password and reviewing recent login activity.

Note: Facebook will never email you asking for your password. If you have any questions about this, please visit the Security section of the Help Centre.

What's Facebook Security Checkup and how do I start it?
