Rubber and rubber-based industry is a booming sector in the global economy and is one of the key engines of growth for the Indian economy. India is the 4th largest producer and 2nd largest consumer of rubber in the world. As we observe, India's rubber manufacturing industry consists of more than 6,000 manufacturing units. These units manufacture more than 35,000 rubber products which are widely used and are indispensable for modern life. The rubber industry clocked a turnover of around Rs. 63,000 crores (USD 1,130 million) in 2011-12 with CAGR over last 3 yrs of more than 10%. The industry employs an estimated half million people currently only on consumption side in tyre and non-trye segment alone. Rubber manufacturing industry has great prospects in provision to local availability of natural rubber. Non-availability of skilled manpower in the sector is a major challenge in the productivity and growth of the industry. Over 90 percent of employment in the rubber sector is in the unorganized or informal organizations, with employees working on the shop floor jobs. Provision of appropriate skills may thus be an important intervention to increase the productivity of this workforce.
Rubber Skill Development Council (RSDC) established to ensure the generation of skilled manpower in rubber sector, provide employment to youth across the nation, create career paths in roles existing within the unorganized and organized segments of the rubber industry and ensure active participation of the industry in absorption of skilled manpower generated through RSDC.
Role Description: The Autoclave operator is responsible for feeding the rubber compound and other materials into an autoclave unit to perform the curing operation.
Role Description: A tyre building operator is responsible to build the bicycle/rickshaw tyre by assembling the different components on the tyre building chucks
Role Description: The compression moulding machine operator is responsible for operating the machine and feeding the rubber compound and other required materials into the machine for making rubber parts .
Role Description: The Continuos Foaming Machine Operator is responsible to produce latex foam products with the help of Continuous Foaming Machine.
Role Description: The extruder operator is responsible for feeding the rubber compound to the extruder and performing the extrusion operation using the Extruder.
Role Description: A Finishing Operator is responsible to inspect the product for any defect; hold defective pieces for repair /scrapping; provide final finishing to OK products and make them ready for storage/dispatch.
Role Description: A Finishing Operator is responsible for trim ming vents and remove flashes from bead area and tyre centerline of cured tyres, inspect for any defect, hold defective tyres for review committee for disposition and carry out final finishing of OK tyres and make them ready for storage in warehouse
Role Description: He is responsible to carry out all types of physical work related to pre-planting operations, planting and overall maintenance of plantation as specified by the organization. He is responsible for the timely completion of all seasonal work assigned to him.
Role Description: The Injection moulding operator is responsible for feeding the rubber compound/strip into the Injection moulding machine for making rubber parts.
Role Description: The internal mixer operator is responsible for mixing the raw materials in the internal mixing machine to prepare a rubber compound
Role Description: He is required to co-ordinate with team members and assist the operators / supervisors to carry out activities as per the production processes of the company. He/she should understand the importance of the activity / task undertaken by him/her in the manufacturing processes and support the operators
Role Description: Latex Harvest Technician is responsible for tapping rubber trees to extract optimum yield from the plantation without causing any damage to the trees.
Role Description: The mill operator is responsible for feeding the rubber into the two roll mixing machine and carry out mixing and warming of rubber as per cycle times.
Role Description: A Packaging Operator is responsible for performing operations to cover/wrap/pack the final product as per the specification and direction of the Technical , in order to send the product to the customer protecting from any kind of damage during transit in an attractive package (sales appeal).
Role Description: Nursery Worker-Budder carries out all the labour oriented nursery activities, specialized in bud grafting. He/She is responsible for the timely completion of bud grafting and all other seasonal activities assigned to him/her, facilitating smooth running of the nursery and production of quality plant

Role Description: A Rubber Product Assembler is responsible to assemble tyre, tube, flap and other rubber products with end fittings to make it ready for shipment to customers.
Role Description: Tyre/ tube repair operator is responsible for repairing the tyre with blemish such as Blister/cracks/lights for tyres and puncture/valve repair in tubes and make them usable as normal Ok tyre/tube.
Role Description: Tyre casing inspection operator is responsible to inspect carcass before building re -treaded tyre.
Role Description: A Tyre Fitter is responsible to fit different types of tyres (new/used/replacement) to the rim depending upon the requirement
Role Description: The tyre moulding operator is responsible for operating the press, load the green tyre in the mould and remove the cured tyre from the machine.
