www.metaquest/device : How do I enter Meta Device code?
If you’re having trouble with your Meta Quest 2, restarting your headset might help to fix the issue. With your headset on and powered on, press and hold the power button on the right-hand side of your headset until you see the Power off screen.
If you’re having problems in VR after setting up a Meta account, here are a few things you can try:
- Restart your headset, then connect the Meta Quest mobile app to your headset.
- Go to auth.meta.com/settings/security/ and click LOG OUT OF ALL SESSIONS. In your headset, you should now see a device code screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your device code. After you log back in, your device should restart – if not, you can manually restart your headset.
- If you’re having problems with an additional Meta account on your device, remove and then re-add the account.
- Perform a factory reset. Ensure you have cloud backup enabled so you don’t loose your data!

Factory reset your Meta Quest headset
If you run into problems with your headset or want to clear all of your data from the headset, you can perform a factory reset. This erases everything off your headset and returns it to the software state that it was in when you first took it out of the box. Performing a factory reset is irreversible and will remove all account information, downloaded games and content from the headset.
To perform a factory reset using your phone:
- Open the Meta Quest app on your phone.
- Tap Menu then tap Devices.
- Tap the headset connected to your phone.
- Tap Headset settings, then tap Advanced settings.
- Tap Factory reset, then Reset.
To perform a factory reset using the headset:
- Turn off your headset.
- Hold the power and volume (-) buttons on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
- Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
- Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
Notes:
- Performing a factory reset is irreversible and will remove all account information, downloaded games and content from the headset.
- Performing a factory reset won’t remove content you’ve purchased or downloaded from your account.
- Your headset must be charged to at least 50%, as a factory reset can take some time, and if the headset dies during this process, it could become irreparably damaged.
