www.hotmail.com Sign In : How to regain access to a Hotmail account
HOTMAIL has grown to become one of the most popular emailing services in the world, with Microsoft upgrading the interface to make a better experience for its users with Outlook.com.
Hotmail is the second most used emailing service behind Google’s Gmail, with more than half a billion users worldwide.
Hotmail was initially bought by Microsoft back in 1997, but has now been rebranded, which has caused a bit of confusion among users.
Is there a difference between Hotmail and Outlook and how do I know which one I am using?
Before filling out the account recovery form make sure you have a working email that Microsoft can use to communicate with you. It will also help if you fill out the form from a recognized device and location.
How to create a Hotmail or Outlook account
To create a Hotmail or Outlook account you have to create a Microsoft account. To do this, go to www.login.live.com and create a new account.
You will need to input some personal information before you can complete this process. You have to fill in your name, date of birth, location, and username.
You can opt to log in via a new email address or you can use a phone number to sign up and confirm your new account.
You must then create a new strong password to protect your account and personal emails.
It is recommended to include capital and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters (!@£$%) in your password to make it robust enough.
1. Have a working email
You’ll need a working email account that you can access. Microsoft use this account to send you information about your request. You can use any active email account, even one belonging to a friend or relative. If you don’t have another email account that you can access, you can create a temporary outlook.com account for free by selecting Create one at the Microsoft account sign in page.
Note: The working email account you provide will only be used to contact you about your account recovery form and won’t be used for any other purpose.
2. Fill out the form using a recognized device and location
If possible, complete the form using a device you previously used to sign into your account and at a location where you commonly use that device and that we’ll recognize, such as your home or office.

How to regain access to a Hotmail account that has been accidentally deleted
Without a Hotmail password, users are unable to access their email. If you’ve forgotten your Hotmail password and need to recover your emails, simply follow the steps outlined below.
Step 1: Open the Hotmail login page by going to Hotmail and pressing the Enter key. In order to avoid having to enter your Hotmail username and password again, click on the link that says, “Can’t access your account?” below the “Sign in” button.
Step 2: To begin Hotmail password recovery, select “I’ve forgotten my password” and then click “Next”. Your Hotmail username and captcha code are required on the next page, which you can access by clicking the Next button. Select “Security Question” and enter your answer if you’re sure you remember it. Select “I can’t use any of these options” instead if you can.
Step 3: You will be redirected to the Account Info page if you click “Next” after entering your Hotmail account information a third time. Next, enter your account information and press the “Submit” button.
Step 4: After Microsoft confirms that you are the rightful owner, you will be sent a password reset email with a link. Enter and verify a new password. After that, you’ll have immediate access to your Hotmail account and be able to perform Hotmail email recovery.
