The most recent public data from Disney&#8217;s Q1 2025 earnings report showed a loss of <b>700,000 subscribers.<\/b><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"274\">It\u2019s hard to pinpoint an exact number because cancellations are often reported as net subscriber losses (which include both cancellations <em data-start=\"255\" data-end=\"260\">and<\/em> new signups).<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"276\" data-end=\"279\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"281\" data-end=\"308\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\ud83d\udcc9 Key Figures \/ Reports<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"1207\">\n<li data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"586\">\n<h3 data-start=\"313\" data-end=\"586\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong data-start=\"313\" data-end=\"341\">700,000 subscribers lost<\/strong> (worldwide)<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"1207\">\n<li data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"586\">\n<p data-start=\"313\" data-end=\"586\">In the final three months of <strong data-start=\"388\" data-end=\"396\">2024<\/strong> (Disney\u2019s Fiscal Q1 2025), Disney+ lost about <strong data-start=\"443\" data-end=\"473\">700,000 paying subscribers<\/strong>. This drop came after price increases and stricter password\u2011sharing rules.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"588\" data-end=\"898\">\n<h3 data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"898\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"620\">4 million\u2011subscriber loss<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"1207\">\n<li data-start=\"588\" data-end=\"898\">\n<p data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"898\">In the first three months of <strong data-start=\"655\" data-end=\"663\">2023<\/strong>, Disney+ saw a decline of about <strong data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"709\">4 million<\/strong> users globally. The \u201closs\u201d reflects more leaving than joining.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1374\" data-end=\"1573\">\n<p data-start=\"1376\" data-end=\"1573\">Hotstar (India \/ Asia) is a big variable in many of the reports; when Disney loses streaming rights (e.g. cricket), that tends to trigger many cancellations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1574\" data-end=\"1720\">\n<p data-start=\"1576\" data-end=\"1720\">Price increases and changes in password\u2011sharing policies have directly contributed to some of the churn.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1721\" data-end=\"1990\">\n<p data-start=\"1723\" data-end=\"1990\">Disney announced that it will stop reporting individual streaming service subscriber numbers (including Disney+) in future quarterly financial results.
