data-start=\"1706\" data-end=\"1736\">links to fake FTB websites<\/strong> aimed at stealing your personal or financial information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1832\" data-end=\"2034\">\n<p data-start=\"1834\" data-end=\"2034\">FTB explicitly advises:<br data-start=\"1857\" data-end=\"1860\" \/>\u201c<strong data-start=\"1863\" data-end=\"1996\">Do not reply to text messages, download attachments, or click on any links in texts or emails if you\u2019re not sure they\u2019re genuine.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2036\" data-end=\"2333\">One credit union (SESLOC) also reported such scams circulating with messages claiming your refund would be forfeited\u2014yet these were confirmed to be fake. They recommend reporting such incidents to FTB at <strong data-start=\"2240\" data-end=\"2256\">800\u2011852\u20115711<\/strong> or via their <strong data-start=\"2270\" data-end=\"2295\">Fraud Referral Report<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2335\" data-end=\"2338\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"2340\" data-end=\"2394\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Real People Sharing Their Experience (from Reddit)<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2396\" data-end=\"2533\">Users on r\/tax described identical text scams about &#8220;expiring refunds&#8221; and small refund amounts (e.g. $1,050).
