The homepage displays an enrollment Event (e.g.,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/shbp.georgia.gov\/active-open-enrollment\">Open Enrollment<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/shbp.georgia.gov\/retiree-option-change-period\">Retiree Option Change Period<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/shbp.georgia.gov\/newly-eligible-employees\">Newly Eligible Employee<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>If you are a first-time user, select &#8220;How do I register for the SHBP Enrollment Portal?&#8221; FAQ for instructions.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a returning user but have not accessed the SHBP Enrollment Portal within the last 45 days, you will be prompted to create a new password that will also expire after 45 days. See \u201cHow do I reset my Password?\u201d FAQ if you would like to reset your password.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong>\u00a0Under the Event enrollment window, click\u00a0<strong>Continue<\/strong>\u00a0to proceed with your\u00a0enrollment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong>\u00a0The Welcome page displays a terms and conditions message with the effective date. You must click\u00a0<strong>Accept Terms and Conditions<\/strong>\u00a0to continue to the next step of enrollment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5:<\/strong>\u00a0If applicable, click\u00a0<strong>Go to Review Your Current Elections<\/strong>. This screen displays appropriate default enrollments for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 6:<\/strong>\u00a0If applicable, click\u00a0<strong>Go to Review Your Dependents (if applicable)<\/strong>. Verify that each dependent has a valid Social Security number (SSN) or other Tax Identification Number (TIN).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 7:<\/strong>\u00a0To start your election process, click\u00a0<strong>Go to Make your Elections<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 8:<\/strong>\u00a0Click\u00a0<strong>Go to Tobacco Surcharge question<\/strong>. You MUST answer the tobacco surcharge question using the radio option.<\/p>\n<p>After you answer the tobacco surcharge question, the decision support box will display. You are provided an option to use the decision support benefit option comparison tool (i.e., Decision Support Tool) to help you choose the right plan to meet your needs. You can choose to decline or accept the opportunity to use the tool.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 9:<\/strong>\u00a0Click\u00a0<strong>Go to Health Benefits<\/strong>\u00a0to choose your medical claims administrator (e.g., Anthem Blue Cross &amp; Blue Shield, Kaiser Permanente, or UnitedHealthcare(s), plan option(s) and coverage tier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 10:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Make your elections<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>When adding a new dependent, scroll down and check the &#8220;include in coverage&#8221;\u00a0box located next to your newly added dependent.<\/p>\n<p>For existing dependents, confirm that all dependent(s) that require health benefits have a check in the \u201cinclude in coverage\u201d box.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 11:<\/strong>\u00a0Click\u00a0<strong>Go to Review and Confirm Changes<\/strong>. \u201cYour elections\u201d will display on the screen and show the elections you made. You should carefully review your elections.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 12:<\/strong>\u00a0Click\u00a0<strong>Finish<\/strong>.\u00a0 If finish is NOT clicked, your enrollment process has not been completed, which means you have decided to\u00a0<strong>make no changes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you choose\u00a0<strong>NOT<\/strong>\u00a0to enroll into a plan option, you must click the radio option for\u00a0<strong>No Coverage<\/strong>. A pop-up box will then display\u00a0<strong>Reason for Waive<\/strong>. You will need to select the drop-down box which will populate responses. Next, scroll through the options provided and select a reason.
