How To Deactivate LinkedIn Account<\/span><\/h1>\n

Closing your LinkedIn account means permanently deleting your profile and removing access to all your LinkedIn information from LinkedIn site. If you have a Premium account, you can cancel the Premium access<\/a>, but still keep your free Basic account to retain your profile, connections, and other information.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

To close your LinkedIn account from the\u00a0Settings & Privacy\u00a0page:<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n

    Click the\u00a0\u00a0Me<\/strong>\u00a0icon at top of your LinkedIn homepage.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  2. \n
    Select\u00a0Settings & Privacy<\/strong>\u00a0from the dropdown.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  3. \n
    Under\u00a0Account management<\/strong>\u00a0section of the\u00a0Account preferences<\/strong>\u00a0section, click\u00a0Change<\/strong>\u00a0next to\u00a0Close account<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  4. \n
    Check the reason for closing your account and click\u00a0Next<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  5. \n
    Enter your account password and click\u00a0Close account<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    You can also close your account directly from the\u00a0Close Account\u00a0page. Before you do, please note:<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n

      You won’t have access to your connections or any information you’ve added to your account.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      \n
      Your profile will no longer be visible on LinkedIn.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      \n
      Search engines like Yahoo!, Bing, and Google may still display your information temporarily due to the way they collect and update their search data.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      \n
      You’ll lose all recommendations and endorsements you’ve collected on your LinkedIn profile.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

      \n
      You may want to\u00a0download a copy of your data\u00a0before you close your account with us.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

      \n
      If you have a premium membership, own a LinkedIn group, or have a premium account license, you’ll have to resolve those accounts before being able to close your Basic account.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
