YouTube TV Turn Off Audio Description<\/span><\/h1>\n

To turn off YouTube’s audio descriptions, launch the video in question and then go to the player’s “Settings” menu. Select the “Audio track” option and go for the default, description-free audio track. You should now be able to watch the video without audio descriptions.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Another technique to increase audience engagement on YouTube is with the new multi-language audio option, which allows you to add audio description tracks to your videos.<\/p>\n

For people who are visually impaired, audio description is a supplementary narrative track that explains what’s happening in a clip. Additionally, you can now add audio description tracks to your videos in the “Subtitles” part of your submission.<\/p>\n

It’s an excellent upgrade that will make YouTube more accessible by giving users more methods to watch each video in its entirety. In addition to increasing your discoverability, this feature will display your clips to users who have indicated this as a search preference.<\/p>\n

Additionally, creators in the United States will soon be able to use a new pronouns option on their Channel page.<\/p>\n

Turn on closed captions<\/span><\/h2>\n

1) If closed captions are available, you’ll see CC next to the progress bar in the video player (on a web browser) or in More in the upper right corner of the video player (on mobile devices).<\/p>\n

2) Click the CC button. Make your selection from the list of available caption tracks to turn on captions.<\/p>\n

3) For on-demand programs, you can change how captions show in the video player (on a web browser) or within Settings (on a mobile device).<\/p>\n

4) For live programs, closed captions are fixed\u2014just like on broadcast TV\u2014and you can’t change how they show.<\/p>\n

5) Closed captions are not available on the mini-player on your mobile device or in a collapsed view on a web browser.<\/p>\n

Why am I hearing Audio Description?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Audio Description is a setting within your TV that provides narration of important visual elements during a TV program to help people with impaired vision or those who otherwise need help to understand what is being shown on screen.<\/p>\n

Not all TV programs have Audio Description and just like Closed Captions, Audio Description can be turned on\/off using your TV settings.\u00a0 If you are hearing Audio Description, it’s because this feature has been (possibly inadvertently) turned on, on your TV.<\/p>\n

If your TV or projector is announcing everything you do, then the Voice Guide is turned on. Voice Guide is an accessibility function to assist users who are blind or have low vision.<\/p>\n
