If you load up Minecraft Dungeons on your games console, then select sign in at www.microsoft.com\/link. You will be asked to link your Microsoft Account to your Gamertag.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Minecraft’s widespread availability on gaming consoles and handhelds has contributed to its meteoric rise in popularity. If you want to connect to online multiplayer servers while playing on PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch, you’ll need to link your Microsoft Account to the game. Because of Minecraft’s cross-platform playability, this is the case. As a result, playing on Xbox One or Windows 10 with others is possible.<\/p>\n

This article will guide you though the process of linking your Microsoft account to your Gamertag on the console.<\/p>\n

Microsoft Account<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

A Microsoft Account allows you access to a whole range of Microsoft services such as OneDrive (Cloud Storage), Outlook.com (Email), Microsoft Office, and more.<\/p>\n

For this to work, you will have to create a Microsoft Account. If you already have a Microsoft Account, please skip this step.<\/p>\n

To sign up for a free Microsoft account, please follow this link here to create an account:\u00a0https:\/\/signup.live.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n

You will need to follow the onscreen instructions to create an account. Once you have done this, please move onto the next step<\/p>\n

Linking your Microsoft Account to your Gamertag<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Now you have created a Microsoft Account, you are going to have to link your Microsoft Account to your Gamertag. In order to do this, Microsoft provides a code that you will have to enter when you go to the page that connects your accounts together.<\/p>\n

Note: This is not needed when you are on Minecraft on Xbox One or on Windows 10.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

If you load up Minecraft on your games console, then select sign in (Or try and access multiplayer). You will be asked to link your Microsoft Account to your Gamertag. The message will look like this:<\/p>\n

In a web browser, either on another device (Such as a phone, or PC\/Tablet) go to\u00a0https:\/\/account.microsoft.com<\/a>\u00a0and sign into your Microsoft account. Then on the same device, in the same browser, go to this web address:\u00a0https:\/\/aka.ms\/remoteconnect<\/a><\/p>\n

You will be presented with a page that looks like this:<\/p>\n

You will need to enter the code it provides you at the bottom of the sign in page (in\u00a0figure 1<\/em>), into this box, then click next.<\/p>\n

Once you click next, it will ask you if you are sure you wish to connect the accounts together. It will provide you the permissions Microsoft has when it comes to accessing personal information from your Gamertag on other services. If you are happy for this, then click yes.<\/p>\n
