PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana at\u00a0 pmsuryaghar.gov.in is a government scheme that aims to provide free electricity to households in India. The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2024.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Under the scheme, households will be provided with a subsidy to install solar panels on their roofs. The subsidy will cover up to 40% of the cost of the solar panels. The scheme is expected to benefit 1 crore households across India. It is estimated that the scheme will save the government Rs. 75,000 crore per year in electricity costs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stepwise Procedure<\/span><\/h2>\n

1) Register at National Portal through the link https:\/\/solarrooftop.gov.in\/. Follow the instructions given on the portal for registration.<\/p>\n

2) After registration, login into the account and click submit application. Fill the information required in the format and submit the application.<\/p>\n

3) Upon TFR approval, sign agreement with the selected registered vendor and proceed for installation of the plant. The list of registered vendors is visible in the \u2018vendors in my area\u2019 tab in the applicant\u2019s account on National Portal.<\/p>\n

4) The submitted application will reach directly to the concerned DISCOM for technical feasibility approval. If all the details are correct, the application will be approved. Else, the application may be rejected or returned for correction<\/p>\n

5) DISCOM officials will inspect the system in accordance with the technical criterion prescribed by MNRE. Upon successful inspection, net-meter would be installed by the DISCOM<\/p>\n

6) After installation of the plant, submit installation details in the National Portal and upload a photo of the applicant with the plant. These details are required for inspection and net-metering of the plant<\/p>\n

7) Once the net-meter has been installed, the DISCOM official will approve the installation details on the portal and an online commissioning certificate will be generated. This certificate will be visible in the applicant\u2019s account.<\/p>\n

8) After generation of commissioning certificate, the applicant can raise online subsidy\/CFA claim request by providing applicant\u2019s bank details along with legible copy of cancelled bank cheque or pass book.<\/p>\n

9) If all details are correct, Central Govt. subsidy\/CFA would be released directly into the bank account of the applicant within 30 days of submission of CFA\/subsidy claim.<\/p>\n

Important Instruction<\/h2>\n

1. The applicant shall use own mobile number and mail id for registration on National Portal. The applications having mail id\/ mobile no. of the vendor would be rejected and such vendors would be blacklisted from further participation in the program\/scheme.<\/p>\n

2. It shall also be ensured that the electricity connection and bank account is in the name of the applicant, else the application would be rejected.<\/p>\n
