Activating <em>Before<\/em> Your Trip:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"5:1-6:55\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"5:1-6:55\">\n<h3 data-sourcepos=\"5:3-5:66\"><strong class=\"\">If your eSIM&#8217;s validity starts upon connection to a network:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"6:5-6:55\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"6:5-6:55\">You can install the eSIM anytime before your trip. Not sure which one applies to you? Your activation policy will tell you. Once you land, go to your device settings and select your eSIM for cellular data.<\/p>\n<p>The instructions below will help you activate your eSIM for devices that were\u00a0<b>purchased before June 23, 2020<\/b>. You must reset your device to complete the following procedure, so\u00a0<b>create a backup before continuing.<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Back up your device. Tap Add <b>Cellular Plan<\/b>\u00a0or Add\u00a0<b>Mobile Data Plan.<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add Data Plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>4. Select<b>\u00a0Enter Details Manually.\u00a0<\/b>You will be asked to enter:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">SM-DP+ Address<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Activation Code<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Confirmation Code(if available on your Airalo Account).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>5. Choose a<b>\u00a0label\u00a0<\/b>or<b>\u00a0customized label<\/b>\u00a0for your eSIM.<\/p>\n<p>6. Under the Default Line page, select your eSIM for\u00a0<b>cellular data only<\/b><\/p>\n<p>7. You should see your new eSIM under your Cellular Data or Mobile Data Plans.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">QR CODE METHOD<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>1. On your device, go to <b>Settings.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>2. Tap <b>Cellular\u00a0<\/b>or<b> Mobile.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>3. Tap Add <b>Cellular Plan\u00a0<\/b>or Add\u00a0<b>Mobile Data\u00a0 Plan.<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add Data Plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>4. Use your printed QR code or another device that displays the QR code to scan your eSIM\u00a0<b>QR Code<\/b><\/p>\n<p>5. If prompted, enter the 4-digit confirmation code. You can skip this step if you are not provided with the confirmation code.<\/p>\n<p>6. Choose a<b>\u00a0label\u00a0<\/b>or<b>\u00a0customized label<\/b>\u00a0for your eSIM.<\/p>\n<p>7. ACCESSING DATA (QR CODE OR MANUAL METHOD)<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>After installing your eSIM, you must also make the necessary adjustments for connecting as required on your eSIM installation page.<\/p>\n<p>1. On your device, go to <b>Settings&gt;Cellular\u00a0<\/b>or\u00a0<b>Settings&gt;Mobile.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>2. Tap on your newly installed eSIM plan.<\/p>\n<p>3. Toggle<b>\u00a0TURN ON THIS LINE<\/b>\u00a0for your eSIM and enable the\u00a0<b>Data Roaming<\/b><\/p>\n<p>4. On the same page, tap on\u00a0<b>CELLULAR DATA NETWORK<\/b>\u00a0OR\u00a0<b>MOBILE DATA NETWORK.\u00a0<\/b>Type the\u00a0<b>APN<\/b>(access point name) on the field provided on your device if required. You can find the APN details in the eSIM installation details on your Airalo App\/Account.<\/p>\n<p>5. Go back to\u00a0<b>Settings&gt;Cellular\u00a0<\/b>or\u00a0<b>Settings&gt;Mobile.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>6. Select your eSIM for\u00a0<b>Cellular Data\u00a0<\/b>or\u00a0<b>Mobile Data<\/b>.
