Students must join your Session to see your slides and respond to your interactive questions on their screens. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Below, you can find a\u00a0Quick Guide for Students\u00a0to join a Session, and a\u00a0Login Settings Guide for Teachers.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Quick Guide for Students<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Students don&#8217;t need to create a Pear Deck account to join Sessions, but they may need a Google or Microsoft Office 365 account to join a Pear Deck Session if the teacher requires it in their Settings (see the next section).<\/p>\n<p>1. The teacher <a href=\"https:\/\/help.peardeck.com\/how-to-present-a-pear-deck#present\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">starts<\/a>\u00a0a Pear Deck Session and gets the Join Link or Join Code to share with students.<\/p>\n<p>2. The student either:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Clicks on the link OR<\/li>\n<li>Goes to joinpd.com and types in the Join Code\n<ul>\n<li>If the presenter has required email login, the student will be automatically logged in with, or prompted to choose, their email account before entering the Session.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>3. Now the student is in the Student View, where they can see the presentation slides and respond to interactive questions.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Login Settings Guide for Teachers<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As the teacher (presenter) you get to determine whether students join your Sessions with an email account or anonymously. Login settings are held for all future Sessions. If you turn OFF student login and let students join anonymously,\u00a0<strong>you will not be able to retrieve their names or email addresses\u00a0<\/strong>from any Sessions you present going forward<strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0Turn ON student login anytime to start collecting email addresses and names again.<\/p>\n<h3>Also Read : <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seminarsonly.com\/news\/valentine-day-2024-quotes-in-english-happy-valentines-day-quotes-wishes-sms-images-gifts\/\">Valentine Day 2024 Quotes in English<\/a><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Turn on Email Login so Students Join with an Email Address<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When you require students to join with an email address, they must enter or select their email account after submitting the Join Code at joinpd.com or clicking on the Session Join Link. Their email addresses and names are automatically saved along with their responses (but never displayed on the Projector View). You can easily review students&#8217; work and see who left each response in the\u00a0Dashboard,\u00a0Takeaways\u2122, or by\u00a0exporting responses\u00a0to a Google Sheet (Takeaways\u2122 and spreadsheet exports are available with Google).<\/p>\n<p><em>Require email login if you want to see who submitted responses for any reason, during or after the Session. It&#8217;s the only way to collect their names!<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><em><strong>1. Your Pear Deck Home Settings page<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/app.peardeck.com\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pear Deck Home<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on your person icon.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<em>My Account.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/app.peardeck.com\/home\/settings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Settings<\/em><\/a>.<em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Go to the\u00a0<em>Require Student Logins<\/em>\u00a0section. Click ON. Then, choose the account type you want students to use to join your Sessions. When you require login, you can only allow one email account type to join your Session. The Pear Deck Sidebar<\/em><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Open the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peardeck.com\/googleslides\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pear Deck for Google Slides Add-on<\/a>\u00a0or the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peardeck.com\/microsoft\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pear Deck for PowerPoint Add-in<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the menu button.<\/li>\n<li>Go to\u00a0<em>Require Student Logins<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Turn it on (green). Instead, an avatar and nickname is assigned to each student. Participants can respond to your interactive slides, but you won&#8217;t see their names. Turn OFF student login on the Settings page and in your Pear Deck sidebar menu (see the steps above) to make login anonymous.<\/p>\n<p>When you turn off student login and let students join anonymously,\u00a0<strong>you will<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>not be able to retrieve their names from any Sessions you present going forward<\/strong>. Customize your assignment with a Title, Parameters, Grading enablement, etc. The URL, Consumer Key, and Shared Secret have already been installed for you.<\/p>\n<p>7. Make sure to check the <em>Enable Grading<\/em>\u00a0box if you want students to be able to click<em>\u00a0Submit Work<\/em>\u00a0in Schoology when they\u2019re done with this lesson.<\/p>\n<p>8. Click <em>Submit<\/em>\u00a0to return to the Courses page. Your assignment is now published. If you aren&#8217;t ready to continue configuring the session, you can un-publish the assignment until you have configured the session.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Start your assignment<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>1. Have an interactive Pear Deck for Google Slides or PowerPoint Online Slides file ready to present. The presentation files are saved automatically in your Google Drive or OneDrive and you will select the one you want to present to students in Step 5.<\/p>\n<p>2. Open the Schoology Courses page.<\/p>\n<p>3. Click on the Pear Deck assignment you created. Instructor-Paced Mode (synchronous): When you choose this Mode, the Projector View opens and responses are anonymous by default on this View.
