myIR Login Online Login NZ : How do I give access to my IRD account?<\/span><\/h1>\n

You can update account access and permission levels for other myIR logons in your business if you have one of the following logons- owner, administrator, restricted administrator.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

You’ll only be able to access another account if you have an existing relationship with it showing in myIR. It’s usually there if you’re a director of a company, trustee of a trust, partner in a partnership, or nominated to act on someone else\u2019s behalf.<\/p>\n

Linking to an associated account only lets you see the person or entity\u2019s myIR information. It does not mean they can see your myIR account.<\/p>\n

Manage account access for an existing logon in myIR<\/span><\/h2>\n

\n
\n

You can update account access and permission levels for other myIR logons in your business if you have one of the following logons:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • owner<\/li>\n
  • administrator<\/li>\n
  • restricted administrator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    1. Go to ‘Manage my profile’<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

    2. Select the ‘I want to…’ tab<\/h3>\n

    3. Select ‘Manage third party access’<\/h3>\n
    \n

    4. Select the logon you want to update access for<\/h3>\n
    Select the logon you want to update from the list. You only need to update logons that are not ‘Owner’ logons as these automatically have access to new accounts.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
    \n

    5. Select ‘Change access role’ to change the level of access a logon has<\/h3>\n
    \n

    A list of access roles are able to be selected. You can choose from the following roles.<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Administrator –\u00a0<\/strong>Can access any accounts the owner grants access to. They can also create logons for users and administrators and access customer level mail.<\/li>\n
    • Restricted administrator –\u00a0<\/strong>Can access any accounts the owner grants access to. They can also create logons for users and administrators. Restricted administrators cannot access customer level mail.<\/li>\n
    • Users –\u00a0<\/strong>can only access accounts that an owner or administrator grants access to. Users can\u2019t access customer level mail but can view account-specific notices and letters<\/li>\n
    • Restricted users –\u00a0<\/strong>Are the same as users, but they can only submit account-level requests. Restricted users who are also Tax Preparers can\u2019t link or delink customers, or make financial transfers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      6. Select ‘Manage account access’ to grant or change access for the account<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n
      \n

      Set account access<\/h4>\n
      \n

      A list of all active accounts will display where you can either grant or cancel access. Only accounts you have access to with your logon will display.<\/p>\n

      When granting access to a new account you need to choose the level of permission you’d like the logon to have. There are 4 permission levels (a description of each permission level is in myIR).<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Full account access.<\/li>\n
      • Make payments.<\/li>\n
      • File.<\/li>\n
      • Read only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Save the changes.<\/p>\n

        What happens next<\/span><\/h2>\n
        \n

        The person you created the logon for gets a logon access email.<\/p>\n

        They\u2019ll have 30 minutes to follow the link in the email and set up a password for the myIR account.<\/p>\n

        Once they\u2019ve done this they can go on and access the myIR account.<\/p>\n

        If you need to re-send the logon access email, select the \u2018Resend logon access email\u2019 link in the right-hand side of the additional logons screen in myIR. This link will only appear if the person with the new logon has not set a password and logged in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

        What you can do in myIR<\/span><\/h2>\n

        Once you’re registered, you can:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • manage all your accounts, including Working for Families and child support<\/li>\n
        • manage your two-step verification settings<\/li>\n
        • manage access and logons for you or someone else<\/li>\n
        • update contact details for you or your organisation<\/li>\n
        • add or change your bank account details<\/li>\n
        • make payments, including direct debit and setting regular direct debits<\/li>\n
        • track refunds<\/li>\n
        • file tax returns<\/li>\n
        • check payments and return information (from 2015 onwards)<\/li>\n
        • receive correspondence and notifications from us<\/li>\n
        • send and receive secure web messages<\/li>\n
        • upload and send documents<\/li>\n
        • check, update and print confirmation of your income<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Use two-step verification in myIR<\/span><\/h2>\n

          Once you\u2019ve set up your myIR profile, you can choose to strengthen security by using two-step verification.<\/p>\n

          When logging into myIR with two-step verification, you will need to provide a unique security code to verify your identify.<\/p>\n

          You can receive security codes by email or an authenticator app on your mobile device.<\/p>\n

          Registering and acting on behalf of someone else<\/span><\/h2>\n

          If you’re a parent or legal guardian living with a child under 16, you can register a myIR account for your child. But if your child is over 16, you cannot register on their behalf.<\/p>\n

          If someone wants you to be their nominated person and act on their behalf, you can access their account details through your own myIR logon.
