You will not receive the discount directly, and it will not affect your cold weather or winter fuel payments.<\/p>\n<p>With a dual fuel tariff, in which your supplier offers both gas and electricity, you could be able to receive the discount on your gas payment instead.<\/p>\n<p>Your application process will be different depending on which of the two approaches to qualify for the scheme you follow.<\/p>\n<p>The information you require is contained here.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Cold Weather Payments<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You\u2019ll get a payment if the average temperature in your area is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees celsius or below over 7 consecutive days.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll get \u00a325 for each 7 day period of very cold weather between 1 November 2023 and 31 March 2024.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"gem-c-heading govuk-heading-l govuk-!-margin-bottom-6\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Eligibility<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"gem-c-govspeak govuk-govspeak direction-ltr disable-youtube\" data-module=\"govspeak\" data-govspeak-module-started=\"true\">\n<p>You may get Cold Weather Payments if you\u2019re getting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pension Credit<\/li>\n<li>Income Support<\/li>\n<li>income-based Jobseeker\u2019s Allowance (<abbr title=\"Jobseeker's Allowance\">JSA<\/abbr>)<\/li>\n<li>income-related Employment and Support Allowance (<abbr title=\"Employment and Support Allowance\">ESA<\/abbr>)<\/li>\n<li>Universal Credit<\/li>\n<li>Support for Mortgage Interest<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"application-notice info-notice\" role=\"note\" aria-label=\"Information\">\n<p>If you live in Scotland, you cannot get Cold Weather Payments. It\u2019s paid into the same bank or building society account as your benefit payments<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"if-you-do-not-get-your-cold-weather-payments\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">If you do not get your Cold Weather Payments<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Tell the\u00a0Pension Service\u00a0or\u00a0Jobcentre Plus\u00a0if you think you should have got a Cold Weather Payment but you have not.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re getting Universal Credit,\u00a0sign in to your account\u00a0and add a note to your journal.<\/p>\n<p>If you do not have an online account, ring the Universal Credit helpline instead.
