New Green Card Design 2023 : USCIS Releases New Design for Green Cards<\/span><\/h2>\n

Having a Green Card (officially known as a\u00a0Permanent Resident Card allows you to live and work permanently in the United States. The steps you must take to apply for a Green Card will vary depending on your individual situation.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has unveiled a new design for green cards and employment authorization documents (EADs), introducing a number of security enhancements.<\/p>\n

On Monday, USCIS started issuing the new cards, but the old ones will still work until they expire.<\/p>\n

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Ur M. Jaddou said, “This redesign further underscores USCIS’ commitment to taking a proactive approach against the threat of secure document tampering, counterfeiting, and fraud.”<\/p>\n

Are you eligible to apply?<\/span><\/h2>\n

U.S. immigration laws provide a variety of ways for people to apply for a Green Card. The eligibility requirements may vary depending on the immigrant category you are applying under. General Application Process<\/span><\/h2>\n

The steps you must take to apply for a Green Card will vary depending on your individual situation. However, here is the general application process that most applicants will go through:<\/p>\n

  1. Someone usually must file an immigrant petition for you (often referred to as sponsoring or petitioning for you). In some cases, you may be eligible to file for yourself.<\/li>\n
  2. After USCIS approves the immigrant petition, and there is a visa available in your category, you file either\u00a0a Green Card application with USCIS<\/a> or a visa application with the U.S. Department of State.<\/li>\n
  3. You go to a biometrics appointment to provide fingerprints, photos, and a signature.<\/li>\n
  4. You go to an interview.<\/li>\n
  5. You receive a decision on your application.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    How to Track Delivery of Your Green Card, Employment Authorization Document (EAD), and Travel Document<\/span><\/h2>\n

    1. Sign up for a\u00a0Case Status Online account<\/a>\u00a0to get automatic case updates, including your U.S. Postal Service (USPS) tracking number when we mail your card or travel document.<\/li>\n
    2. Register for\u00a0Informed Delivery<\/a>\u00a0through USPS to get daily images of mail being sent to you. With Informed Delivery, you can:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      • Automatically track the packages you’re expecting<\/li>\n
      • Set up email and text alerts<\/li>\n
      • Enter USPS Delivery Instructions\u2122 for your mail carrier<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        If your USPS tracking information shows your package was delivered but you have not received it, contact your local post office\u00a0immediately<\/u>.
