According to the FTC, the company charged parents and gamers of all ages for unwanted items and locked the accounts of customers who disputed wrongful charges with their credit card companies.<\/p>\n<p>The FTC plans to use the settlement money to provide refunds to Fortnite gamers in the U.S. who were affected by the company&#8217;s billing and refund practices.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Who is eligible for a refund?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The FTC plans to make refunds available to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Parents whose children made an unauthorized credit card purchase in the Epic Games Store between January 2017 and November 2018<\/li>\n<li>Fortnite players who were charged in-game currency (V-Bucks) for unwanted in-game items (such as cosmetics, llamas, or battle passes) between January 2017 and September 2022<\/li>\n<li>Fortnite players whose accounts were locked between January 2017 and September 2022 after disputing unauthorized charges with their credit card companies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/consumer.ftc.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/consumer_ftc_gov\/images\/fortnite-socmed-1200x630.png\" width=\"562\" height=\"295\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Also Read : <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seminarsonly.com\/news\/https-facebookuserprivacysettlement-submit-claim-facebook-user-privacy-settlement\/\">https \/\/facebookuserprivacysettlement\/#submit-claim<\/a><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">What will I need to do to get a refund?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you believe that you are eligible for a payment, you don&#8217;t need to do anything right now. You know, the game where you might have just spent hundreds of dollars without your knowledge or permission. That also meant you\u2019d lose access to all the content you actually wanted and paid for \u2014 simply because you disputed a charge.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to a settlement with the FTC, Epic now has to make sure players and parents confirm purchases. They can\u2019t lock you out of the game for disputing charges. And Epic also has to pay $245 million to those they unfairly charged or locked out of a Fortnite account.
