TextNow has a number of options that allow you to tailor your messaging and calling preferences to your liking. Below we’ll take a look at how to update these preferences on the TextNow website and in the app.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Messaging & Calling Preferences<\/span><\/h1>\n

TextNow has a number of options that allow you to tailor your messaging and calling preferences to your liking. Below we’ll take a look at how to update these preferences on the TextNow website and in the app.<\/p>\n

On\u00a0TextNow.com:<\/span><\/h2>\n

1.<\/strong>\u00a0Log in on the\u00a0TextNow\u00a0<\/a>website.<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong>\u00a0Navigate to your\u00a0Account<\/a>\u00a0page by clicking\u00a0My Account\u00a0<\/strong>in the upper-right corner, or by selecting\u00a0My Wireless Account\u00a0<\/strong>from the menu on the Conversations page.<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong>\u00a0From the drop-down, select\u00a0Settings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

4.<\/strong>\u00a0Click on\u00a0Messaging & Calling.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

5.\u00a0<\/strong>To change your messaging preferences, select\u00a0Messaging Settings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

6.\u00a0<\/strong>From here, you can choose if you want to hear\u00a0notification sounds<\/strong>\u00a0for incoming messages when you’re using a browser, and to\u00a0show a notification on your desktop<\/strong>\u00a0when you get a new message. You can also select\u00a0Send me an email<\/strong>\u00a0to get an email whenever you receive a text.
\nAnd finally, you can\u00a0edit or remove the signature<\/strong>\u00a0that appears at the bottom of your texts here as well.<\/p>\n

7.<\/strong>\u00a0By selecting\u00a0Calling Settings<\/strong>, you can turn on the ability to\u00a0send missed calls to voicemail.<\/strong><\/p>\n

8.<\/strong>\u00a0Under\u00a0Blocked Numbers<\/strong>, you can see your list of numbers you’ve blocked, and unblock them if you wish.<\/p>\n

In the TextNow app:\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

1.<\/strong>\u00a0Open your TextNow app and sign into your account.<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong>\u00a0Click on the\u00a0main menu<\/strong>\u00a0button in the upper-left corner, and then select\u00a0S<\/strong>ettings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Signature:\u00a0<\/strong>Add, edit or remove the signature that appears at the end of each of your texts<\/li>\n
  • Quick Reply:<\/strong>\u00a0Set your preferences for floating chat heads, popup replies, and quick replies from the lock screen.<\/li>\n
  • Unified Inbox:<\/strong>\u00a0Send an receive messages from your wireless provider by using your native phone number through the TextNow app.<\/li>\n
  • Import SMS:\u00a0<\/strong>Bring the text messages from your phone into the TextNow app<\/li>\n
  • Email notifications:<\/strong>\u00a0Have TextNow send an email to the email address you have on your account everytime you receive a text.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    4.<\/strong>\u00a0Tap on\u00a0Calling<\/strong>\u00a0for your calling options:<\/p>\n

    Here’s a quick rundown of the options under\u00a0Calling<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    • Elastic Calling:<\/strong>\u00a0Set up TextNow to use your phone’s already existing 3G\/4G data connection or voice network to start or complete a call when off wifi.<\/li>\n
    • Voicemail:<\/strong>\u00a0Turn voicemail on or off, and set up a custom greeting.<\/li>\n
    • Ringtone:<\/strong>\u00a0Choose a different ringtone from either the ones packed with TextNow, or from another audio file on your<\/li>\n
    • Call Forwarding:<\/strong>\u00a0Set up your call forwarding number (Note: This option is not available for free users).<\/li>\n
    • Screen Lock:<\/strong>\u00a0Toggle the screen on or off during calls.<\/li>\n
