Nest Login | Create a new account to use the Nest app<\/span><\/h2>\n

You\u2019ll need a Google Account in order to create a new account to use with the Nest app. If you don\u2019t have one, first follow\u00a0these instructions to create a Google Account. Then, follow the instructions below to create your Nest app account.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong>\u00a0If you\u2019ve signed in to any Google product before (like Gmail, Maps, or YouTube), you may already have a Google Account. You can use the same username and password you created for that product to sign in to any other Google product or service, including Nest.<\/p>\n

If you can’t remember signing into a Google Account<\/strong>,\u00a0check for an existing account. You’ll get a message \u201cNo account found\u201d if there isn’t a Google Account associated with your email address.<\/p>\n

How to create a new Nest app account<\/span><\/h2>\n

  1. Download the Nest app on your phone or tablet from the\u00a0Apple App Store<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0Google Play.<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. On the Nest app home screen, select\u00a0Sign in with Google<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. If you have a Google Account, you\u2019ll be prompted to use it to sign in. Select\u00a0Continue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Select the Google Account you want to use in the Nest app, or select\u00a0Use another account<\/strong>\u00a0if you have an existing account that\u2019s not listed.<\/li>\n
  5. You\u2019ll need to let the Nest app access specific data from your Google Account. Select\u00a0Info\u00a0<\/strong>\"info\u00a0for more information on what will be shared\u00a0\"\"\u00a0Allow<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  6. You\u2019ll be asked if you have an existing non-migrated Nest Account. If you’re creating a brand new account, select\u00a0No<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  7. Review the\u00a0Google Privacy Policy<\/a>, this\u00a0Privacy FAQs<\/a>\u00a0article, and our\u00a0commitment to privacy<\/a>\u00a0in the home to understand how Google will handle your data if you use a Google Account with Nest services. Read and accept the\u00a0Google Terms of Service<\/a>\u00a0as supplemented by the\u00a0Nest Terms of Service<\/a> \u00a0select\u00a0Continue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  8. Follow the instructions in the app to now set up your home.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Keep in mind that all email alerts, home reports, and other messages from Google Nest will be delivered to the new email address.<\/p>\n

    If you<\/strong>\u2019<\/strong>re using a Nest Account<\/strong>, follow the instructions below.<\/p>\n

    1. Open the Nest app and select\u00a0Sign in with Nest<\/strong>\u00a0at the bottom of the screen.<\/li>\n
    2. Enter your email address and password, then tap\u00a0Sign in<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. Tap Settings\u00a0\"Nest.<\/li>\n
    4. Select Account, then\u00a0Manage account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    5. Tap\u00a0Account Security<\/strong>, then\u00a0Email address<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    6. Enter your current account password and the new email address. Retype your new email address to confirm.<\/li>\n
    7. Tap\u00a0Save changes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    8. Check your new email address for a message from\u00a0account@nest.com<\/strong>. Tap or click on the included link to verify the new address.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Can I share my account with someone else?<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

      No. You should never share your account password with anyone. This can compromise the security of your account and cause unexpected behavior with features like\u00a0home automation.<\/p>\n

      You can invite your friends and family to share access to your home. Each person will be able to sign in with their own account and use the Nest app on their phone to view and use the Nest products in your home.<\/p>\n

      After you\u00a0migrate to a Google Account, only invite people you trust to become home members.
