More than 50,000 families and individuals are given houses by the Chicago Housing Authority, which also supports wholesome neighbourhoods across the city. CHA has made use of the Moving To Work agreement’s flexibility to explore novel, locally created initiatives that make better use of federal funding to assist people in becoming self-sufficient and to expand the housing options available to low-income families.<\/p>\n

Because of this, CHA households are more prosperous than ever. 15% of heads of household who were able to work were employed in 2000. Over 58% of people are now employed. Additionally, the yearly income of employed heads of home has increased by more than $21,000.<\/p>\n

The Board of Commissioners of the Chicago Housing Authority, a municipal not-for-profit corporation, is made up of ten members. The Mayor appoints the commissioners.<\/p>\n

3. Carefully enter the Head of Household\u2019s name, Social Security number, email and phone number<\/p>\n

4. Create a strong password that is at least 8 characters long and uses a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols<\/p>\n

REVIEW AND UPDATE HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS<\/span><\/h2>\n

1. For each household member, click \u201cReview and Confirm\u201d to open the Member Details box. Review the household member\u2019s information, update any inaccurate information and answer any blank questions. Then click \u201cSave\u201d to return to the full household list.<\/p>\n

2. To request to add a household member to the voucher, click \u201cAdd Household Member\u201d to open a Member Details box. Enter the household member\u2019s information. Then click \u201cSave\u201d to return to the full list.<\/p>\n

3. To remove a person no longer residing in the unit, click \u201cDelete\u201d.<\/p>\n

4. Once complete, click \u201cSave and Continue\u201d to proceed to the next section.<\/p>\n

REVIEW AND UPDATE HOUSEHOLD INCOME<\/span><\/h2>\n

1. For each type of household member income, click \u201cReview and Confirm\u201d to open the Income Details box. Review each household member\u2019s income, update any inaccurate information and answer any blank questions. Then click \u201cSave\u201d to return to the full household income list.<\/p>\n

2. To add an adult household member\u2019s income, click \u201cAdd Income\u201d to open an Income Details box. Choose the household member and enter their income information. Then click \u201cSave\u201d to return to the full list. Trying to determine the income type? Click the \u201cIncome Type Definitions\u201d tab to learn how to classify the income.<\/p>\n

3. To remove a household member\u2019s income, click \u201cDelete\u201d. 4. Once complete, click \u201cSave and Continue\u201d to proceed to the next section.<\/p>\n

HOUSEHOLD EXPENSES<\/span><\/h2>\n

1. For existing expenses, click \u201cReview and Confirm\u201d to open the Expense Details box. Review the expense, update any inaccurate information and answer any blank questions. Then click \u201cSave\u201d to return to the full household expenses list.<\/p>\n

2. To add an expense, click \u201cAdd Expense\u201d to open a blank Expense Details box. Choose the household member and enter the expense information. Then click \u201cSave\u201d to return to the full list.<\/p>\n

3. To remove an expense, click \u201cDelete\u201d.<\/p>\n

4. Once complete, click \u201cSave and Continue\u201d to proceed to the next section.<\/p>\n

REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS<\/span><\/h2>\n

Is anyone in your household a person with a disability? Do they require an accommodation to equally access the HCV Program or better manage their disability? Select Yes or No from the drop-down menu and answer any follow-up questions that appear on the screen. Once complete, click \u201cSave and Continue\u201d to proceed and run the Error Check.<\/p>\n

DOCUMENTS <\/span><\/h2>\n

Review the income verification checklist to determine what documents are necessary to submit for the income type. Click the \u201cUpload\u201d button next to each item to attach files or take photos of the documents using your phone or tablet. Once complete, click \u201cSave and Continue\u201d to proceed.<\/p>\n

SUMMARY<\/span><\/h2>\n

Review the summary of your household information for accuracy. Ensure all documents are attached where requested. Once complete, click \u201cSave and Continue\u201d to sign and submit the Re-Examination.<\/p>\n

SIGN AND SUBMIT<\/span><\/h2>\n

Click \u201cClick here to sign\u201d to open each document. Each adult household member must: accept the digital signature terms, establish a digital signature, review the document(s) and click the yellow boxes to digitally sign and date. Once the last document is signed, the Re-Examination will be automatically submitted! CHA will contact you to finalize your Re-Examination.<\/p>\n
