Fido Activate SIM : How do I activate my Fido SIM card?<\/span><\/h1>\n

To activate your new Fido SIM card, Sign in to your Fido My Account<\/a> on fido.ca. Select the phone number for which you\u2019re activating the SIM card. Enter the 20-digit old SIM card number starting with 89302 and then the 20-digit new SIM card number starting with 89302.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

If you bought your phone from a Fido store or kiosk, you should get a new SIM card that\u2019s already activated to put in your new phone. If the new SIM card was not activated, please follow the\u00a0Activate SIM card<\/strong>\u00a0steps below.<\/p>\n

Note:\u00a0<\/strong>Your contacts are normally saved on your actual phone and not on your SIM card. You\u2019ll need to back up your old phone with your contacts in order to begin setting them up on your new phone. We don\u2019t recommend that you set up your new phone until you have an active SIM card in it as you may have to set up your new phone all over again.<\/p>\n

Buying online<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you bought your phone on\u00a0Fido.ca,<\/strong>\u00a0you\u2019ll receive a new SIM card with your new device. You can activate your new SIM card by following the\u00a0Activate SIM card<\/strong>\u00a0steps below.<\/p>\n

You\u2018ll need both your old AND new SIM card numbers. If you don\u2019t have both, please visit a Fido store or kiosk with 2 valid pieces of identification. (a government issued ID and a photo ID)<\/p>\n

  1. Turn off your phone(s).<\/li>\n
  2. Put the new SIM card in the device of your choice.\u00a0Note<\/strong>: SIM cards can be broken down to the proper size for your phone.<\/li>\n
  3. If you\u2019re not sure how to put the SIM card into your phone,\u00a0check out our helpful Device Tutorials<\/a>. Select the phone that you need help with under the\u00a0Manufacturer<\/strong>\u00a0category and then select your device.<\/li>\n
  4. Sign in to your\u00a0Fido My Account<\/a>\u00a0on fido.ca.<\/li>\n
  5. Select the phone number for which you\u2019re activating the SIM card. (Note:\u00a0<\/strong>A SIM card that came with a device upgrade can only be used for that device\u2019s phone number)<\/li>\n
  6. Go to the\u00a0Quick Links<\/strong>\u00a0section and select\u00a0Change my SIM card.\u00a0<\/strong>Note:\u00a0<\/strong>If you\u2019re on fido.ca on a mobile device, tap the arrow beside the number that you\u2019d like to activate in order to see\u00a0Quick Links.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Enter the 20-digit old SIM card number starting with 89302 and then the 20-digit new SIM card number starting with 89302. (Please do not enter any spaces)<\/li>\n
  8. Select\u00a0Continue.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  9. Select\u00a0Submit.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  10. Turn on your phone with the new SIM card. You\u2019ll see signal bars to indicate that the SIM is activated successfully.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Fido.ca\/simcard Activate :<\/span><\/h2>\n

    Only on Fido.ca through MyAccount or at a Fido retail location can you activate a SIM card for a monthly plan. Prepaid card purchases must be made in person.<\/p>\n

    1. To do it on Fido.ca, sign-in to your account.<\/p>\n

    2. You’ll first be redirected to your Account’s Overview<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    3. From there, click on Show all lines\u00a0<\/strong>(if you have multiple lines)<\/p>\n

    4. Select your phone number<\/strong> from the list<\/p>\n

    5. Click on View Usage & Manage<\/strong><\/p>\n

    6. Scroll down to Quick Actions<\/strong><\/p>\n

    7. Click the link Update SIM Card.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Keep in mind that for a postpaid account, if you do not have the old SIM Card number then activation on Fido.ca will not work. You must pass by a store to activate your SIM card.<\/p>\n

    If you reported your phone as lost or stolen<\/span><\/h2>\n

    \n

    If you changed your SIM card because you reported your phone as lost or stolen, you\u2019ll need to log into\u00a0Fido My Account<\/a>\u00a0and reactivate your service.<\/p>\n

    To reactivate service on a phone previously reported lost or stolen:<\/p>\n

    1. Log into\u00a0Fido My Account.<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. Select the phone number you need to reactivate.<\/li>\n
    3. Go down to the\u00a0Quick Links\u00a0<\/strong>Section and select\u00a0Lost or Stolen Device.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    4. Select\u00a0Reactivate my service.<\/strong><\/li>\n
