Activating Your Own Modem Using the Xfinity App<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n

You can activate the modem or gateway you own using the Xfinity app as long as it\u2019s eligible<\/p>\n

Read the rest of this article to learn how to activate your own device using the Xfinity app. Before you start, download the Xfinity app for free from the Apple App Store<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0Google Play<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Activating Your Modem or Gateway<\/span><\/h3>\n

1. Launch the Xfinity app and sign in using your Xfinity ID and password.<\/p>\n

2. Once the Internet connection has been found, you\u2019ll be prompted to Start Activation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. Find an active cable outlet in your home and Connect the Coax Cable<\/strong>\u00a0into that outlet and into the back of your modem, ensuring both connections are finger tight.<\/p>\n

  • Note:<\/strong>\u00a0 If you have Xfinity Voice , you should also connect your phone cord from the back of your phone receiver into the back of the modem after connecting your coax cable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    4. Plug your modem\u2019s power cord into an electrical outlet.<\/p>\n

    5. Enter your modem\u2019s 12-digit MAC number.<\/p>\n

    6. Once your modem is connected to the coax cable in an active outlet and the power cord plugged into an electrical outlet, you’ll be prompted to Check Your Connection.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    7. Once connected, Xfinity service will be activated on your modem.<\/p>\n

    8. If you have Xfinity Voice and your modem activation and provisioning was successful, your Xfinity Voice number(s) will be displayed in the success message. If you don’t have Xfinity Voice, you’ll receive the confirmation with no phone number.

    9. Once your modem is activated, you can use the Xfinity app to see your modem name and online\/offline status, as well as view payment details, accessXfinity Assistant for account concerns, run speed tests to the device you’re using and restart your modem.<\/p>\n

        How to Activate Your Xfinity Self-Install Kit Devices using an App<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

        If you\u2019re activating Xfinity xFi Pods or an Xfinity xFi Gateway (with the exception of the xFi Fiber Gateway, Arris X5001), you can use the Xfinity xFi app for easy activation. After setup, you can use the app for management of your home network. To determine the type of Gateway you have, check the make and model information located on the bottom of your device. You can also sign in to My Account and select Devices.<\/p>\n
