If you\u2019re eligible, fill out the Proof of Claim form.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you were tricked into entering personal information to find out if you were eligible for government assistance programs, you can apply to get a payment. The FTC sued the company responsible for these websites and won a judgment. The court is authorized to pay up to a total $17 million dollars to consumers who were harmed.<\/p>\n<h3><b>The deadline to apply for a payment is August 31, 2022.<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>The defendants, On Point Global, ran more than 200 websites that claimed to check whether a person was eligible for government assistance programs like the Housing Choice Voucher program, Section 8 housing assistance, or food stamps. As part of the process, the websites asked people for information like their age, gender, income, and credit or debit card number<\/p>\n<p>But the On Point Global websites did nothing to determine a user\u2019s eligibility for the government assistance programs. Instead, the defendants sent people a PDF with information about government programs, and they often sold users\u2019 information to other companies<\/p>\n<p>If you gave your personal information to the defendants, you are eligible for a payment. The company managing the refund process sent emails and postcards to people who are eligible.\u00a0Legitimate emails related to this settlement will come from\u00a0noreply@onpointclaimform.com.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-28671 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wearethenationnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/onpointclaimform-file-a-claim-300x126.png\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wearethenationnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/onpointclaimform-file-a-claim-300x126.png 300w, https:\/\/wearethenationnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/onpointclaimform-file-a-claim.png 302w\" alt=\"https:\/\/www.onpointclaimform.com\" width=\"300\" height=\"126\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Follow these steps to claim your money:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>1.
