If the letters\/numbers are unclear, click &#8220;Reload captcha&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Agree to the User Agreement and Privacy Policy<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;Activate Device&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Once the information has been entered correctly and you&#8217;ve accepted the terms, this screen will disappear, and setup will continue automatically.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">How to Activate Service on a TiVo DVR\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-aura-rendered-by=\"57:294;a\">Before you purchase a device or activate with any of the TiVo Service Plans available, please verify if the device is already activated with a service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The device is active with the AIP service<\/b><\/p>\n<ul data-aura-rendered-by=\"57:294;a\">\n<li>Secure an authorization to transfer the ownership of the device from the seller<\/li>\n<li>Once authorization to transfer is provided, contact\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tivoidp.tivo.com\/tivoCommunitySupport\/s\/stream4ksupport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TiVo Customer Support via chat<\/a>\u00a0and request an ownership transfer.<\/li>\n<li>Provide the 15-digit TiVo Service Number to the chat agent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><br data-aura-rendered-by=\"57:294;a\" \/><span data-aura-rendered-by=\"57:294;a\"><b>The device is active with Monthly\/Annual service<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-aura-rendered-by=\"57:294;a\">\n<li>Check and verify with the seller if the service is still active<\/li>\n<li>If the service is still active, advise the seller to cancel the service. A wired connection may be faster than a wireless connection and is the recommended connection type for TiVo EDGE Series, TiVo BOLT Series, TiVo Roamio Series, and TiVo Premiere Series.<\/p>\n<p>To connect using a wired connection, simply attach an Ethernet cable between your router and the TiVo device.<\/p>\n<p><b>New TiVo customers:<\/b>\u00a0After the TiVo device\u00a0powers up, it will automatically begin Guided Setup. During Guided Setup, you will be prompted to enter settings that will allow the\u00a0TiVo device\u00a0to connect to your network.<\/p>\n<p><b>Existing TiVo customers:<\/b>\u00a0If you are already are using a wireless connection and needs to reconfigure your network, go to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tivoidp.tivo.com\/tivoCommunitySupport\/s\/article\/How-to-Configure-Network-Settings-on-your-TiVo-Device\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to Configure Network Settings on your TiVo Device<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>TiVo Series 2, Series 3, and Series 4\u00a0that require a USB (N-adapter or G-adapter) wired adapter:<\/b>\u00a0Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to your router and the other end to the wired adapter.
