You can find this in your Xfinity folder.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1ejipe9t395\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Activate Your Equipment Using an App<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re activating Xfinity xFi Pods or an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.xfinity.com\/support\/articles\/broadband-gateways-userguides\">Xfinity xFi Gateway<\/a>\u00a0(with the exception of the xFi Fiber Gateway, Arris X5001), you can use the Xfinity app for easy activation. After setup, you can use the Xfinity app for management of your home network. To determine the type of Gateway you have, check the make and model information located on the bottom of your device. You can also sign in to My Account and select\u00a0<strong>Devices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download the Xfinity app for free from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.xfinity.digitalhome&amp;hl=en_US\">Google Play<\/a>\u00a0or the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/xfinity-xfi\/id1178765645\">App Store<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Sign in using your Xfinity ID and password. If you don\u2019t have one, you can create one from the sign-in page.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0If you\u2019re activating a Gateway, you might be prompted to start the activation as soon as you sign-in. If you aren\u2019t prompted, proceed to step 3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Once you&#8217;re signed in, select the\u00a0<strong>Account<\/strong>\u00a0icon from the top-left corner of the\u00a0<strong>Overview<\/strong>\u00a0tab on the Xfinity app.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Activate xFi Gateway or Modem<\/strong>\u00a0under the\u00a0<strong>Devices<\/strong>\u00a0section.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019re activating xFi Pods, select\u00a0<strong>Activate xFi Pods<\/strong>\u00a0under the\u00a0<strong>Devices<\/strong>\u00a0section.<br \/>\n<strong>Note<\/strong>: You can also begin the activation of a Flex TV Streaming Box using the Xfinity app .<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qYsXZTNQdbU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qYsXZTNQdbU\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1ejipe9t396\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Activate Your Equipment Online<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re activating Xfinity Internet, Voice or any TV services other than X1, you can easily activate your equipment online.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Connect your Internet, Voice and\/or TV equipment and turn it on.<\/li>\n<li>Go online to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/register.be.xfinity.com\/activate\">Xfinity.com\/activate<\/a>\u00a0for easy step-by-step activation instructions.\n<ul>\n<li>If you\u2019re activating your Xfinity Mobile device, go to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.xfinitymobile.com\/activate\">xfinitymobile.com\/activate<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1ej3416v41u\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Activate Your Xfinity Flex 4K Streaming TV Box<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>First, you need to activate your Xfinity Internet service using the Xfinity app.\n<ul>\n<li>This includes customers who rent an Xfinity Gateway or own their own modem.<\/li>\n<li>For more help, follow the step-by-step instructions on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.xfinity.com\/support\/articles\/activate-internet-gateway-modem\">Activating Your Xfinity Internet Service<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Before setting up your Xfinity Flex streaming TV Box, make sure you can connect to your home Xfinity Internet network (either WiFi or wired with Ethernet cable) through a desktop or mobile device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019re activating an Xfinity Gateway or your own modem and your Flex device, you\u2019ll be presented with an option to\u00a0<strong>Begin Flex Setup<\/strong>\u00a0after your Internet device has been successfully activated.<\/li>\n<li>Otherwise, you can select the\u00a0<strong>Activate Flex<\/strong>\u00a0option from the\u00a0<strong>Overview<\/strong>\u00a0tab or\u00a0<strong>Account<\/strong>\u00a0page.\u00a0(The\u00a0<strong>Account<\/strong> page\u00a0is located in the top-left corner of the\u00a0<strong>Overview tab<\/strong>.)<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019ll then be promoted to\u00a0<strong>select the correct MAC address<\/strong>, which can be found on the bottom of your Flex device. If you have more than one Flex device, you\u2019ll need to activate one at a time.<\/li>\n<li>After successfully validating your Flex device, the Xfinity app will assist you in setting up your device.\n<ul>\n<li>Connect the HDMI cable from your TV to your Xfinity Flex 4K streaming TV Box. Turn on your TV using your TV&#8217;s remote and choose the correct HDMI input from the TV menu.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0When looking at the back of the device, the HDMI port is the largest port, or the second port from the right.<\/li>\n<li>Plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet and connect the other end to the USB-C port on your Xfinity Flex 4K streaming TV Box.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0When looking at the back of the device, the USB-C port is the smallest port, or the first port from the right.<\/li>\n<li>Once the power indicator lights up (on the top of the device, towards the front), you\u2019re ready to go!Only use the supplied power adapter, and avoid outlets controlled by dimmers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Your Voice Remote comes installed with two AA batteries. Remove the plastic tab from the back of the Voice Remote (by pulling the tab towards the top of the remote), and wait for on-screen instructions. If you&#8217;d like to set up your connection manually, press the\u00a0<strong>Info<\/strong>\u00a0(<strong>i<\/strong>) button on your Voice Remote. If your Flex 4K streaming TV Box can\u2019t connect automatically,\n<ul>\n<li>You\u2019ll be asked to select your Language.<\/li>\n<li>Then, manually connect by entering your Private WIFI Name and Password or WiFi Protected Setup (WPS).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select your language.\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure you\u2019re pointing the Voice Remote directly at the front of the Flex streaming 4K TV Box and are less than ten feet away.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0If your Voice Remote isn\u2019t working and you get stuck on the language selection, you might need to unpair your remote from a previous TV device. Get instructions to unpair your Voice Remote at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/xfinity.com\/unpair\">xfinity.com\/unpair<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019ll be asked if you\u2019d like to continue using\u00a0<strong>Voice Guidance<\/strong>. If you choose\u00a0<strong>Yes<\/strong>, all the following activation instructions will be spoken to you. If you choose\u00a0<strong>No<\/strong>, you\u2019ll go through the visuals shown below.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/secure.xfinity.com\/anon.comcastonline2\/support\/help\/faqs\/HOW13039\/HOW13039_2021.05.12_01.png\" alt=\"On screen prompt asking, \" data-filename=\"HOW13039_2021.05.12_01.png\" data-image-id=\"HOW13039_2021.05.12_01\" \/><\/li>\n<li>If your Flex device requires a\u00a0<strong>Firmware Update<\/strong>, we\u2019ll need to restart your device to download the latest firmware requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Activating your device:\n<ul>\n<li>If you successfully validated your device using the Xfinity app, we\u2019ll automatically activate the Flex device for you.<\/li>\n<li>If you didn\u2019t use the app, you\u2019ll be required to enter your account information on-screen.\n<ul>\n<li>Enter the last four digits of any phone number listed on your Xfinity account using the number keys or directional pad on your Voice Remote.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019re having trouble using the last four digits of a phone number, you can select the\u00a0<strong>Verify another way<\/strong>\u00a0button and verify with an SMS verification code or by entering your account information instead.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Once your device is successfully activated, you\u2019ll need to name your device.<\/li>\n<li>Your device will automatically be optimized for sound and 4K video.<\/li>\n<li>The last and final step will be setting up your Voice Remote to control your TV Box and your TV and Audio Equipment\u2019s power and volume. Follow the on-screen steps.<\/li>\n<li>If your Internet connection hasn&#8217;t been fully established, you may be asked to connect to your home private WiFi network. Please refer to Step #6 above for the WiFi Setup instructions on how to connect to your network. Congratulations! Your Flex 4K streaming TV Box is now ready to use!
