To get a REAL ID, please\u00a0<span class=\"switch-tab\" data-show-tab=\"1\">apply in person.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>You are not a US Citizen.\u00a0 Please\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/portal.ct.gov\/DMV\/Offices\/Offices\/Make-an-Appointment\">make an appointment<\/a>\u00a0to renew in person.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Your ID has been expired for more than 2 years. Please follow the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/portal.ct.gov\/DMV\/Licenses\/Licenses\/Non-Driver-ID-Card\/Non-Driver-Photo-ID---Obtaining\">procedure for obtaining a new ID card<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>You are living in a homeless shelter and wish to do a no fee renewal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>You are a blind veteran and wish to do a no fee renewal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>You do not have a first name or need to update your name.\u00a0Please\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/portal.ct.gov\/DMV\/Offices\/Offices\/Make-an-Appointment\">renew in person<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>If you cannot renew online, please renew\u00a0<span class=\"switch-tab\" data-show-tab=\"1\">in person<\/span>\u00a0or\u00a0<span class=\"switch-tab\" data-show-tab=\"2\">by mail<\/span>\u00a0instead.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"tabs-content__body_header\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">How to<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"tabs-content__body_details\">\n<h3><strong>Step 1: Gather what you\u2019ll need<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Your first and last name exactly as it appears on your current non-driver ID<\/li>\n<li>Your date of birth<\/li>\n<li>Your street address<\/li>\n<li>Your non-driver ID number<\/li>\n<li>Your social security number<\/li>\n<li>A credit or debit card<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Step 2: Renew online<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a class=\"richtext-content__primarybtn\" href=\"https:\/\/dmv.service.ct.gov\/CustomerOnlineServices\/s?language=en_US\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">GET STARTED<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Step 3: Get your ID in the mail<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Your ID will arrive through the mail within 20 business days. You can keep your expiring ID if there are no changes other than address.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"tabs-content__body_header\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Fees<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"tabs-content__body_details\">The fee for your ID renewal is computer-generated as DMV phases in the 8-year license. You may request a renewal of your non-driver identification card by mail by completing <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.ct.gov\/-\/media\/DMV\/B350pdf.pdf\">Form B-350<\/a>\u00a0and Form CI-1.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Temporarily out of state or country<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You are currently not in Connecticut. You can renew by mail and the non-driver identification card will be mailed to the out of state\/country address.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Incarcerated<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you are incarcerated, you can renew your non-driver identification card by mail. You must provide your inmate number.
