You can call the number on the back of your card (1-866-545-6502).<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">How To activate your EBT card<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"first-token\" data-sourcepos=\"1:1-1:18\">To activate your EBT card, you typically need to call the customer service number located on the back of the card. Follow the automated prompts, which usually require you to enter:<\/p>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"3:1-4:28\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"3:1-3:69\"><strong>Your card number:<\/strong> The 16-digit number on the front of the card.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"4:1-4:28\"><strong>Your date of birth:<\/strong> In the format MM\/DD\/YYYY.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:56\"><strong>Your Social Security Number (SSN):<\/strong> (In some cases)<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"6:1-6:30\"><strong>Choose a PIN:<\/strong> Select a 4-digit Personal Identification Number that you&#8217;ll use at stores.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Alternative Activation Methods:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Online:<\/strong> <span class=\"citation-4 recitation citation-end-4\">Some states offer online activation through their EBT website or a specific portal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 In-Person:<\/strong> If you&#8217;re having trouble activating over the phone, you might need to visit your local social services office for assistance.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"13:1-13:246\"><strong>Important Note:<\/strong> <span class=\"citation-5 recitation citation-end-5\">The exact activation process can vary slightly depending on your state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"13:1-13:246\">If you encounter any difficulties, refer to the instructions provided with your card or contact your local EBT customer service for guidance<\/p>\n<p>After you apply for SNAP or WV WORKS benefits and are approved, you will receive your first Mountain State EBT card in the mail 5-10 days after it is ordered.\u00a0 Once you get your card, you will need to activate it before you can use it.\u00a0 Activating your card is easy and will only take you a few minutes.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">There are two ways you can activate your first WV EBT card<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>You can call the number on the back of your card (1-866-545-6502).<\/li>\n<li>You can go to www.ebtEDGE.com and use the Cardholder Portal.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">To activate your card by <strong>calling the number on the back<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Dial 1-866-545-6502 and listen to the automated system.<\/li>\n<li>Press 1 for English or 2 for Spanish.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your 16- digit card number on the front of your card.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your Date of Birth. The format is mm\/dd\/yy.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your Social Security Number when prompted.<\/li>\n<li>Select 4 numbers as your Personal Identification Number (PIN) when prompted.<\/li>\n<li>When prompted, re-enter the numbers you selected as your PIN.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">PIN Select &#8211; New Card<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If this is a brand new card, the PIN Select screen will let you choose a PIN.<\/p>\n<p>To access the PIN select page:<\/p>\n<p class=\"List1\">1.<span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Enter your 16 digit EBT Card number in the\u00a0EBT Card #\u00a0field in the\u00a0Cardholder Log In\u00a0page.<\/p>\n<p class=\"List1\">2.<span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Click the\u00a0Login\u00a0button.
