Special Score Structure: Calculus BC<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you take the AP Calculus BC Exam, you\u2019ll get a Calculus AB subscore (1\u20135) in addition to your regular score. The Calculus AB subscore shows how you did on the part of the exam devoted to Calculus AB topics, which is approximately 60% of the exam.<\/p>\n

The subscore gives colleges and universities more information about your abilities. We recommend to colleges that they treat the Calculus AB subscore on the Calculus BC Exam the same way they would treat an AP Calculus AB Exam score, since common topics are tested at the same conceptual level in both Calculus AB and Calculus BC. Of course, each college and university sets its own policy for awarding credit and\/or placement for AP Exam scores.<\/p>\n

For AP Music Theory, there are two subscores (1\u20135): an aural component subscore and a nonaural component subscore.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The\u00a0aural component subscore<\/strong>\u00a0includes multiple-choice questions related to recorded musical examples, two melodic dictation questions, two harmonic dictation questions, and two sight-singing questions.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0nonaural component subscore<\/strong>\u00a0includes multiple-choice questions requiring score analysis and other multiple-choice questions not related to recorded musical examples. It also includes free-response questions calling for realization of a figured bass, realization of a chord progression from Roman numerals, and composition of a bass line to fit a given melody.<\/p>\n
