To activate your Embarkvet Kit with Code, Log in to your Embark account at my.embarkvet.com\/activate<\/a>. Click ‘Activate kit’ on your dog’s profile card. Enter the 14-digit swab code (it typically starts with 310 or 312) and click ‘Register Swab’ code.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Embark Veterinary, Inc. launched in 2015 with a mission to end preventable disease in dogs. An Embark Dog DNA Test enables pet owners to learn about their dog\u2019s breed, ancestry, health, and what diseases a dog may be at risk for in the future \u2013 all with a simple cheek swab. Embarkvet com Activate Code and Login: <\/span><\/h2>\n

Before returning your dog’s replacement swab, be sure to activate it in their profile!<\/span><\/p>\n

The steps are pretty much the same as when you initially activated your dog’s swab, the only difference is that you’ll activate using the 14-digit swab code, as opposed to the 7 or 8-digit EM code.<\/p>\n

To activate your replacement swab:<\/p>\n

1. Log in to your Embark account.<\/a><\/p>\n

2. Click ‘Activate kit’ on your dog’s profile card.<\/p>\n

3. On the next page, click ‘Don’t have an activation code?<\/strong><\/em>‘.<\/p>\n

How does the testing process work? Does it require a blood sample or vet visit?<\/span><\/h2>\n

A cheek swab and instructions will be mailed to you. By swabbing your dog\u2019s cheek, you can easily take a sample in under a minute at home, no blood required. Then all you have to do is mail us the sample in a provided pre-paid return envelope and your results will be available in a few weeks.<\/p>\n

How to Swab Your Dog and Activate Kit<\/span><\/h2>\n

1. REMOVE COLLECTION TUBE<\/h3>\n

Open the kit and remove the tube from its packaging. Do not remove the swab from the tube, you can use the tube as a handle.<\/p>\n

2. SWAB YOUR DOG FOR 30-60 SECONDS<\/h3>\n

Take the swab and gently rub the inside of your dog\u2019s cheek pouch and under his tongue to collect saliva for at least 30 seconds. Some tips to get the best quality sample:-<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Make sure the swab sponge is saturated with saliva. Some dogs may need you to swab for up to 60 seconds!<\/li>\n
  • Show your dog a treat (don\u2019t let them eat it) so they get nice and slobbery.<\/li>\n
  • Don\u2019t let your dog eat for 30 minutes prior to swabbing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    3. UNSCREW CAP, PLACE IN TUBE & SEAL YOUR SAMPLE<\/h3>\n

    Unscrew the cap and turn the swab upside down. Place the swab inside the collection tube.<\/p>\n

    Don\u2019t spill the liquid \u2013 it is needed to stabilize the DNA until it\u2019s processed.<\/p>\n

    Screw the cap until you cannot turn it any further.<\/p>\n

    4. MIX SAMPLE<\/h3>\n

    Make sure the cap is screwed on tightly over the sample collection tube. Invert the tube and shake for 10 seconds.<\/p>\n

    5. ACTIVATE<\/h3>\n

    Click the button below to activate your kit.<\/p>\n

    Please do this before mailing your kit back to Embark .<\/p>\n

    6. SEND YOUR SAMPLE TO Embark<\/h3>\n

    Send your sample to Embark with the prepaid envelope included in your kit. Don\u2019t worry, your sample is stable for at least 6 months, but who wants to wait that long?<\/p>\n
