On June 23, 2021, the Union Health Ministry declared any false reports claiming homeless individuals had been denied access to COVID-19 vaccination due to a lack of technical prerequisites to be untrue and invalid.<\/p>\n

The Ministry refuted as “baseless” all claims alleging that possessing a mobile phone or computer with internet access, producing address evidence, knowing English, and pre-registering on Co-WIN are all requirements for receiving COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health has emphasised that none of the requirements listed above are required in order to obtain COVID-19 vaccination doses. Pre-registration on Co-WIN is not required, according to the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n

On June 24, 2021, the coverage of COVID-19 vaccine in India reached a milestone of 30 crores. A total of 64.89 lakh vaccination doses were provided in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases in the country has fallen to 6 lakhs, a further decrease. In the last 24 hours, there have been 54,069 new cases reported.<\/p>\n

The Government of India has taken the following actions in order to further promote the COVID-19 immunisation campaign and ensure that every citizen of the country has access to vaccine doses.<\/p>\n

It is now possible to access the Co-WIN platform in 12 different languages, including English, Hindi, Punjabi (Assamese), Bengali, Odia (Odisha), Gujarati (Gujarat), Marathi (Maharashtra), Kannada (Andhra Pradesh), Telugu (Tamil), Tamil (Tamil Nadu), and Malayalam.<\/p>\n

\u2022The Co-WIN platform has been developed as an inclusive information technology system to provide a flexible framework with all of the capabilities required to increase vaccine coverage even in the most distant areas of the nation.<\/p>\n

There are provisions for those who do not have identification cards, mobile phones, or access to the internet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022Though any of the photo ID proofs, such as an Aadhar Card, Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) – Voter ID, Passport, Driving License, PAN Card, NPR Smart Card, Pension Document with photograph, and so on, are required for identity verification prior to vaccination, they are not required for vaccination.<\/p>\n

In the case of those who do not have any of the above-mentioned identification cards or mobile phones, the government has developed specific measures for them to receive vaccinations. More than 2 lakh persons have benefited from the provisions of these laws.<\/p>\n

People who do not have access to mobile phones or computer systems with internet access for vaccine registration can take advantage of free walk-in (on-site) vaccination programmes provided by the government.<\/p>\n

80 per cent of vaccination conducted through walk-ins<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

\u201cWalk-ins (on-site) vaccinations have accounted for 80 percent of all vaccinations, according to the Health Ministry. Every piece of information required for registration, vaccination, and the issuance of a certificate of vaccination is handled by the vaccinator, with only the bare minimum of information provided by the beneficiaries.\u201d<\/p>\n
