Both the Lifeline and the ACP benefit can be used for the same service, or they can be used independently.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You can:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Talk to your Lifeline provider about the services they may have available as part of the ACP, including options to apply the discounts to your existing Lifeline service, or<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Contact another internet company\" href=\"https:\/\/www.affordableconnectivity.gov\/companies-near-me\/\" aria-label=\"This is the link for Contact another internet company\">Contact another internet company<\/a>\u00a0participating in the ACP to apply the benefit to a separate internet service.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"single-video-thumbnail\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.affordableconnectivity.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/home\/acp-thumbnail.png\" alt=\"What is ACP?\" \/><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"indi-long-form-text__p--intro\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Already in a low-income program with a non-Lifeline provider?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Reach out to your internet company directly to see if you can enroll in the program.\u00a0<em>You likely do not need to apply again.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you do not participate in Lifeline but receive service from a participating company that has its own low-income program, you may not need to apply for the ACP benefit. This option is only available if the company obtained approval for its application process from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). If you apply online, you may receive an immediate approval. If we cannot confirm your eligibility automatically, we will request additional documentation from you and provide information on how you can submit those documents for review.<\/p>\n<h3 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"3\">Sign Up to Get Internet Service<\/h3>\n<p>Once we approve your application for the ACP benefit,\u00a0<a title=\"you can choose a company\" href=\"https:\/\/www.affordableconnectivity.gov\/companies-near-me\/\" aria-label=\"This is the link for you can choose a company\">you can choose a company<\/a>\u00a0that offers ACP discounts and sign up for service.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<h2 class=\"page-title\" role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Show You Qualify<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">When you apply for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) benefit, you may need to provide additional information or documentation if we cannot confirm your eligibility, identity, or address. We will contact you to let you know if we need additional information to confirm your eligibility.<\/div>\n<div><a class=\"custom-logo-link hyperlinked-image\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.affordableconnectivity.gov\/\" rel=\"home\" aria-label=\"This is the link for \"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"custom-logo aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.affordableconnectivity.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/home\/logo\/ACP-logo.png\" sizes=\"(max-width: 309px) 100vw, 309px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.affordableconnectivity.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/home\/logo\/ACP-logo.png 309w, https:\/\/www.affordableconnectivity.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/home\/logo\/ACP-logo-300x83.png 300w\" alt=\"ACP \u2013 Universal Service Administrative Company\" width=\"309\" height=\"85\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Qualifying Assistance Program Participation<\/span><\/h2>\n<div>\n<div id=\"faq-1\" class=\"single-faq-answer collapse in\" aria-expanded=\"true\">\n<p>If you participate in\u00a0<a title=\"qualifying programs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.affordableconnectivity.gov\/do-i-qualify\/\" aria-label=\"This is the link for qualifying programs\">qualifying programs<\/a>, provide a letter or official document as proof.<\/p>\n<p>Documentation must include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your (or your dependent\u2019s) first and last name.<\/li>\n<li>The name of the qualifying program, such as SNAP.<\/li>\n<li>The name of the government, Tribal entity, program administrator, school, school district, university, or college that issued the document.<\/li>\n<li>An issue date within the last 12 months or a future expiration date\n<ul>\n<li>For the Free and Reduced Price School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program, including at US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Community Eligibility Provision schools, documents must be from the current school year or the school year immediately preceding the application.<\/li>\n<li>For USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) schools, documents must show that the student is enrolled in a CEP School for the relevant school year (the student must still be enrolled in the CEP school at the time of the application).
