Take one of these cables and connect one end to the right hand side port of your Virgin Media wall outlet. The wall outlet will be the white plastic box fixed to your internal wall &#8211; typically in your living room. The correct port to use on the splitter is the side which has only one co-ax port.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"parsys_column lgi_col_60_40-c1\">\n<div class=\"parsys\">\n<div class=\"image section\">\n<div class=\"textcenter\">\n<div class=\"floatcenter None clearboth\">\n<div class=\"header title section\">\n<div class=\"Left clearboth\">\n<h2 class=\"blue ph9 lgi-txtsd-default\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Connect to the TV box<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"spacer section\">\n<div class=\"upc_spacer_height_1\">Take the co-ax cable which has both a blue end and a red end, then push the blue end into the co-ax port on the back of your Virgin TV set top box.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"nested-columns parbase section\">\n<div id=\"column_ctrl0\" class=\"parsys_column lgi_col_60_40 \">\n<div class=\"parsys_column lgi_col_60_40-c0\">\n<div class=\"parsys\">\n<div class=\"richtext section\">\n<div id=\"step_fullwidth_numberedstepcontaine_content_substep_parsys_0_nested_columns_parsys_0_richtext\" class=\"lgi_rte_list1-1 lgi-richtext\">\n<p>Next take the red of the cable end and push this on to the port on the co-ax splitter marked\u00a0<b>Set Top Box<\/b>. Take one end and push this on to the remaining co-ax port on the splitter marked\u00a0<b>Cable Modem<\/b>\u00a0and push the opposite end of the cable on to the co-ax port on the back of your Hub.<\/p>\n<div class=\"header title section\">\n<div class=\"Left clearboth\">\n<h2 class=\"blue ph9 lgi-txtsd-default\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Power up your TV box<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"spacer section\">\n<div class=\"upc_spacer_height_1\">Next you need to connect the set top box power cable to the back of the set top box. The other end connects to the nearest electrical outlet. If it didn&#8217;t do this automatically you can use the <b>Source\u00a0<\/b>button to change this.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"nested-columns parbase section\">\n<div id=\"column_ctrl0\" class=\"parsys_column lgi_col_60_40 \">\n<div class=\"parsys_column lgi_col_60_40-c0\">\n<div class=\"parsys\">\n<div class=\"richtext section\">\n<div id=\"step_fullwidth_numberedstepcontaine_content_substep_parsys_0_nested_columns_parsys_0_richtext\" class=\"lgi_rte_list1-1 lgi-richtext\">\n<p>Remove the orange tab from the remote control and press the\u00a0<b>Box standby power<\/b>\u00a0button at the top right. The box should now run through a start up routine and you may hear its fan spinning. A graphic onscreen as the box loads up. You&#8217;ll see a language selection &#8211; highlight\u00a0<b>English\u00a0<\/b>and press\u00a0<b>OK\u00a0<\/b>on your remote.<\/p>\n<p>The next message onscreen will ask if you would like the box to suggest personalised content for you. We&#8217;d recommend selecting\u00a0<b>Yes\u00a0<\/b>to this, as the Virgin TV box will review what you like to watch and give you suggestions.<\/p>\n<p>The next screen will now ask you to set the standby power usage. We recommend using\u00a0<b>High\u00a0<\/b>standby power mode as this ensures all services will continue operating when the box is in standby.<\/p>\n<div class=\"header title section\">\n<div class=\"Left clearboth\">\n<h2 class=\"blue ph9 lgi-txtsd-default\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Power-up your Hub<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"spacer section\">\n<div class=\"upc_spacer_height_1\">\n<div class=\"parsys_column lgi_col_60_40-c0\">\n<div class=\"parsys\">\n<div class=\"richtext section\">\n<div id=\"step_fullwidth_numberedstepcontaine_content_substep_parsys_0_nested_columns_parsys_0_richtext\" class=\"lgi_rte_list1-1 lgi-richtext\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"step_fullwidth_numberedstepcontaine_content_substep_parsys_0_nested_columns_parsys_1_image\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.virginmedia.ie\/snippets\/stepplan-setting-up-your-virgin-tv\/setting-up-virgin-tv-with-bb-hp7\/_jcr_content\/step_fullwidth\/numberedstepcontaine\/content\/substep\/parsys-0\/nested_columns\/parsys-1\/image.img.350.jpg\/1523372252052.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-upc-tooltip-type=\"none\" data-upctooltip=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"nested-columns parbase section\">\n<div id=\"column_ctrl0\" class=\"parsys_column lgi_col_60_40 \">\n<div class=\"parsys_column lgi_col_60_40-c0\">\n<div class=\"parsys\">\n<div class=\"richtext section\">\n<div id=\"step_fullwidth_numberedstepcontaine_content_substep_parsys_0_nested_columns_parsys_0_richtext\" class=\"lgi_rte_list1-1 lgi-richtext\">\n<p>Now you need to connect the modem power cable to the back of the Hub itself, and the other end to the nearest plug socket. When you&#8217;re done, flip the A\/C power switch on the back of the Hub into the\u00a0<b>On\u00a0<\/b>position &#8211; that&#8217;s the one with the &#8216;I&#8217; symbol.<\/p>\n<p>Your Hub will now go through a boot-up process and this can take approximately five mins. Once it&#8217;s complete, you&#8217;ll see only one solid white light displayed on the front panel.<\/p>\n<div class=\"header title section\">\n<div class=\"Left clearboth\">\n<h2 class=\"blue ph9 lgi-txtsd-default\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Connecting to your WiFi network<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"spacer section\">\n<div class=\"upc_spacer_height_1\">Take a look under your Hub modem. There&#8217;s a white sticker here with your WiFi network name and password.
