The colour of each letter’s box changes when you send a guess. If the colour changes to green, you’ve correctly placed the letter in the daily word. In other words, if it turns yellow, you’ve got the letter in the word, but the wrong place. This indicates that the letter does not appear anywhere in the word. It’s amusing to see how often the same puzzle is being played by different people.<\/p>\n

Wordle also appears to use US-English spellings rather than UK-English. Many Wordle players in the UK were enraged when the word to guess one day was FAVOR.
