(TAG-VE). The TAG-decision VE&#8217;s was based on the evidence that Omicron has several mutations that may have an impact on how it behaves, for example, on how easily it spreads or the severity of illness it causes.. The<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>About Omicron\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Many studies are being conducted in South Africa and around the world in an effort to better understand Omicron, and these findings will be shared as they are available.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"ZRIDcG1qKi\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seminarsonly.com\/news\/support-apple-com-iphone-restore-restore-screen-on-your-iphone-ipad-or-ipod-touch\/\">support.apple.com\/iphone\/restore : Restore screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;support.apple.com\/iphone\/restore : Restore screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch&#8221; &#8212; Seminarsonly.com\" src=\"https:\/\/www.seminarsonly.com\/news\/support-apple-com-iphone-restore-restore-screen-on-your-iphone-ipad-or-ipod-touch\/embed\/#?secret=7mR5bcbWUi#?secret=ZRIDcG1qKi\" data-secret=\"ZRIDcG1qKi\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Transmissibility<\/strong>: If Omicron is more contagious than other strains, including Delta, it is not yet known whether it is more transmissible. More information on this will become available in the coming days and weeks.<\/p>\n<p>People who previously had COVID-19 may be more susceptible to reinfection with Omicron than with other variants of concern, based on preliminary evidence, but more research is needed. In the days and weeks to come, we&#8217;ll have more information on this.<\/p>\n<p>This variant&#8217;s potential impact on our current countermeasures, including vaccines, is being studied by WHO in conjunction with technical partners. In the fight against the dominant circulating variant, Delta, vaccines remain critical. The current vaccines are still effective in preventing death and life-threatening illness.<\/p>\n<p>The widely used PCR tests continue to detect infection, including Omicron, as we have seen with other variants as well.
