Is your residence visa about to expire? Here’s a helpful tool.<\/span><\/h2>\n

It’s a drill every UAE resident goes through every two years, or maybe three, depending on the type of visa.<\/p>\n

While most of us remember the month when our residence visa is scheduled to expire, we don’t usually remember the date. Then, as the month approaches, it’s common to flip through the pages of the passport to check the visa validity.<\/p>\n

But we don’t always carry our passport with us, do we? So what should we do then?<\/p>\n

All you need to check your residence visa validity is your passport number and the passport expiry date. So you’re good even if you have a photocopy of your passport, or a scanned version saved on your phone.<\/p>\n

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship provides this service through its website. A resident can enter passport information to verify if visa is still valid and can check whether the issued visa is authentic or not. Residents can also cross-check the validity of visa through this official government website.<\/p>\n

Here’s a step by step guide to track the visa validity using your passport:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Step 1:<\/strong>\u00a0Visit this link –\u00a0https:\/\/smartservices.ica.gov.ae\/echannels\/web\/client\/default.html#\/fileValidity<\/a><\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/strong>\u00a0Select the ‘Passport Information’ radio button.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong>\u00a0Select either ‘residency’ or ‘visa’.<\/p>\n

Step 4:<\/strong>\u00a0Enter passport number and passport expiry date.<\/p>\n

Step 5:<\/strong>\u00a0Enter nationality from the dropdown on the right. A corresponding number will appear on the box on the left.<\/p>\n

Step 6:<\/strong>\u00a0Select the captcha check box and click on search. The page will now display your visa details along with date of expiry.<\/p>\n

1. Go to\u00a0https:\/\/echannels.moi.gov.ae<\/a>\u00a0and login.<\/p>\n

2. Click on the ‘My Requests’ tab on the top right of the page. You will see all APPROVED visa requests which you submitted<\/p>\n

3. In front of each request, you see three small buttons. Click on the middle button having the name ‘ACTIONS’. A menu will appear.<\/p>\n
