With the addition of Sony&#8217;s previous strategic investments in Epic, the company received an additional $200 million in finance.<\/p>\n<p>By August 2020, private investors invested $17.3 billion in Epic Games, making it possible for Epic to raise large sums without having to issue shares.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Epic Games Stock IPO<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Epic Games isn&#8217;t planning an IPO anytime soon because the company can raise massive sums of money without going public. Sweeney is in charge of the business, but he also has access to Tencent&#8217;s resources and funds. If Epic Games goes public, Sweeney will have to give up control.<\/p>\n<p>One billion dollars in investment will keep Epic Games private, but &#8220;Announcing a $1 billion Round to Support Epic&#8217;s Long-Term Vision to the Metaverse&#8221; is another indication of Epic&#8217;s long-term ambition.
