    Go to the official Illinois Tollway activation portal at ua.getipass.com<\/strong> or getipass.com\/activate<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Log in or create a new I\u2011PASS account<\/strong> (note: a Pay\u2011By\u2011Plate account won\u2019t give activation options)<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Under your account dashboard:<\/span><\/p>\n

      Navigate to \u201cView Transponders\u201d<\/strong> or \u201cActivate Transponders\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Enter the serial number<\/strong> and activation code<\/strong> found on the sticker attached to your transponder<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

      Submit the form. Activation is typically processed within 30\u202fminutes to 24\u202fhours for Illinois<\/strong>, sometimes up to 48\u202fhours in other states<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Once activated, mount the transponder on your windshield as instructed (behind the rear\u2011view mirror, arrows pointing up)<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      An I-Pass is available for $50. In addition to the base price, there is a $10 refundable security deposit and $40 in pre-paid tolls included. Customers can also sign up for automatic replenishment, which means that when the account balance falls below $10, another $40 is automatically charged to a credit card and deposited to the I-Pass account, saving them time and money.<\/p>\n

      People who do not want to have the automatic replenishment option can do so by paying a $20 security deposit.<\/p>\n

      Having an I-Pass either way causes a financial holdup. Having one of these cards is a no-brainer if you’re a frequent user of the toll roads.<\/p>\n

      How to Mount Your I-PASS<\/span><\/h2>\n

      Step 1<\/h3>\n

      Make sure that the inside of your windshield is clean, dry and warm.<\/p>\n

      Step 2<\/h3>\n

      With the arrows of the transponder pointing toward the roof, align the transponder on the windshield behind the rearview mirror, at least one inch below the metal roofline and one inch to the right or left of the mirror post.<\/p>\n

      Step 3<\/h3>\n

      Remove the plastic backing tape from the mounting strips and firmly press the transponder against the glass for 15 seconds.<\/p>\n

      Activate it!!<\/h3>\n

      Transponders obtained at Jewel-Osco or Road Ranger locations must be activated before use. Call 1-800-926- 6500 or activate online at www.illinoistollway.com. Be prepared to provide the I-PASS serial number and activation code, located on the activation sticker on your transponder. Transponders obtained at a Tollway Customer Service Center are already activated.<\/p>\n

      Even occasional users, according to Joelle McGinnis, press secretary for the Illinois Tollway System, will benefit from the system because they will save the trouble of fumbling with cash or fretting about missing the toll basket. Drivers do not need to stop at toll booths equipped with special I-Pass lanes, though they may need to slow down in some cases.<\/p>\n

      Furthermore, you will not lose any money that is not utilised.<\/p>\n

      “Money remains in your account until it is spent,” McGinnis explained.<\/p>\n

      If you choose to return an I-Pass, your deposit, as well as any remaining funds in your account, will be refunded.<\/p>\n
