Unlock with Apple Watch not Working : If your Apple Watch isn’t connected or paired with your iPhone<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you see a red iPhone icon on your Apple Watch, or you’re trying to pair and can’t find the “i” icon, try to connect your devices again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Check your Apple Watch connection<\/span><\/h2>\n
\n

If you don’t get notifications, messages, or calls on your Apple Watch, your Apple Watch and iPhone might not be connected. When your devices disconnect, the red iPhone icon\u00a0\u00a0or the red X icon\u00a0\u00a0appears on your watch face. You can also check your connection in Control Center. When your Apple Watch connects again, the green iPhone icon\u00a0\u00a0appears.<\/p>\n

First, bring your Apple Watch and paired iPhone close together.\u00a0If you\u00a0still see that the devices are disconnected and\u00a0need help, try the steps below. After each step, see if your devices can connect.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

  1. Keep your Apple Watch and paired iPhone close together to make sure that they’re in range.<\/li>\n
  2. On your iPhone, make sure that Airplane Mode is off and that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on. To check,\u00a0open Control Center.

  3. If you see the Airplane Mode icon\u00a0\"\"\u00a0on your watch face, Airplane Mode is on. Open Control Center, then turn off Airplane Mode.<\/li>\n
  4. Restart your Apple Watch\u00a0and\u00a0iPhone.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Unpair your devices, then pair them again<\/span><\/h2>\n

    If your Apple Watch still can’t connect,\u00a0unpair it from your iPhone, then\u00a0pair your Apple Watch and iPhone again.<\/p>\n

    Unpair and erase your Apple Watch<\/span><\/h2>\n

    Unpairing your Apple Watch restores it to its factory settings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    If you’re using your Apple Watch with a public transport card\u00a0in the Wallet app,\u00a0remove your public transport card from your Apple Watch\u00a0before you unpair.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    How to unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone<\/span><\/h2>\n

      \n
    1. Keep your Apple Watch and iPhone close together as you unpair them.<\/li>\n
    2. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.<\/li>\n
    3. Go to the My Watch tab\u00a0and tap All Watches.<\/li>\n
    4. Tap the info button\u00a0\"\"\u00a0next to the watch you want to unpair.
      \n\"\"<\/li>\n
    5. Tap Unpair Apple Watch.
      \n\"\"<\/li>\n
    6. For GPS + Cellular\u00a0models, choose to keep or remove your mobile data plan.\n
        \n
      • If you want to pair your Apple Watch and iPhone again, keep your plan.<\/li>\n
      • If you don’t want to pair your Apple Watch and iPhone again, remove your plan. If you aren’t going to pair with a different watch or iPhone, you may need to contact your network provider to cancel your mobile\u00a0data subscription.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Tap again to confirm. You may need to enter your Apple ID password to\u00a0disable Activation Lock.\u00a0Before erasing\u00a0all content and\u00a0settings on your Apple Watch, your iPhone creates a new\u00a0backup of your Apple Watch. You can use the backup to restore a new Apple Watch. After your Apple Watch unpairs, you’ll see the Start Pairing message.<\/li>\n
