UAN Activation Online Guide | Validate OTP and Activate UAN
For activating your Universal Account Number (UAN), Visit the official EPFO Member portal. Click on “Activate UAN” located on the right side of the screen under the “Important Links” section.
Here’s how you can do it online:
Steps to Activate Your UAN:
Go to the EPFO Member Portal: Visit the official EPFO member portal: unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
Click on “Activate UAN”: You’ll find this under the “Important Links” section on the home page.
Enter Your Details:
- You’ll need to provide your UAN, Member ID, Aadhaar number, or PAN.
- Fill in other required details like your name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.
- Enter the captcha code.
Get Authorization PIN:
- Click on the “Get Authorization Pin” button.
- You’ll receive a PIN on your registered mobile number.
Validate OTP and Activate UAN:
- Enter the PIN you received in the designated field.
- Click on “Validate OTP and Activate UAN”.
Set Your Password:
- Once your UAN is activated, you’ll receive a password on your mobile number.
- Use this password to log in to your EPF account. You can then change it to a password of your choice.

• UAN is Essential: Activating your UAN is crucial for accessing EPFO’s online services, like checking your PF balance, withdrawing funds, and tracking claims.

Who can be member of EPFO?
Ans : A person who is employed for wages in any kind of work, manual or otherwise, in or in, connection with the work of a establishment covered under the Employees’ Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, and who gets his wages directly or indirectly from the employer, and includes any person employed by or through a contractor in or in connection with the work of the establishment.
