To Activate Telcel SIM Card Online, go to us.telcel.com/secure/Activate and select the radio button option “Activate my phone with a number transferred from another company.”
Your PIN is located on the back of your Service Plan Card. To find the PIN on your Service Card, simply locate and scratch off the gray strip on the back of your card. Scratch off the gray strip in order to reveal your 15 digit Service Card PIN.

Do automatic updates on my cell phone generate charges?
On your trips abroad, we suggest you verify that the “automatic update” option for applications is turned off to avoid generating charges for data consumption without you realizing it.
From Android
- Select Play Store
- In the upper left corner, select the 3 bars
- Select Settings / Settings
- Select Update apps automatically.
- Select Don’t update apps automatically
From iOS
- Select “Settings”
- Select “iTunes Store and App Store”
- Disable “App Updates”
- Disable “Automatic Downloads”
Don’t forget to activate your updates when you return to Mexico.
