Social Security December 2024 Payments Schedule
Social Security payments for December 2024 are scheduled to be sent out on the following dates, based on the recipient’s birth date:
- Born on the 1st – 10th: Payment on December 11th, 2024 (Wednesday)
- Born on the 11th – 20th: Payment on December 18th, 2024 (Wednesday)
- Born on the 21st – 31st: Payment on December 24th, 2024 (Tuesday) – moved up a day due to Christmas
Important Notes:
• SSI Payments: If you receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), your Social Security payment will be issued on the 3rd of the month, and your SSI payment will be issued on the 1st of the month. However, since December 1st, 2024 falls on a Sunday, the SSI payment will be issued on December 3rd, 2024 (Tuesday).
• January SSI Payment: You’ll also receive your January 2025 SSI payment early, on December 31st, 2024 (Tuesday), because January 1st, 2025 is a Wednesday.
• COLA Notice: Your COLA (Cost-of-Living Adjustment) notice will show your updated monthly benefit amount for 2025, starting in January.
• Delays: While rare, if you don’t receive your payment on the expected date, allow three additional mailing days before contacting Social Security.
