Rocket League Having Problems Communicating with Epic | Error Fix

If you’re having trouble connecting Rocket League to Epic Online Services, then it is a common issue, and luckily there are a few things you can try to fix it! Begin by restarting your Rocket League game, Epic Games Launcher, and your computer.

Here’s a breakdown of troubleshooting steps, from the simplest to more advanced:

1. Basic Checks:

  • Restart everything: Begin by restarting your Rocket League game, Epic Games Launcher, and your computer. Sometimes a fresh start is all you need.
  • Internet connection: Make sure your internet connection is stable. Try restarting your modem and router.
  • Epic Games Server Status: Check the Epic Games Server Status page to see if there are any outages or issues affecting Rocket League.

2. Game-Specific Troubleshooting:

  • Verify game files:
    • Open the Epic Games Launcher.
    • Go to your Library.
    • Click the three dots next to Rocket League.
    • Select “Verify.” This will check for any corrupted or missing game files and repair them.
  • Check your date and time settings:
    • Make sure your computer’s date and time are set correctly. This can interfere with online services.
    • Windows: Right-click the clock on your taskbar, select “Adjust date/time,” and make sure “Set time automatically” is turned on.

3. Advanced Troubleshooting:

  • Clear the Epic Games Launcher cache:
    • Close the Epic Games Launcher completely.
    • Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
    • Type %localappdata% and press Enter.
    • Open the “EpicGamesLauncher” folder.
    • Delete the “Saved” folder.
    • Restart the Epic Games Launcher.
  • Disable your firewall temporarily: Your firewall might be blocking the connection. (Remember to re-enable it afterwards!)
  • Change your DNS server: Try using a different DNS server like Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).
  • Check your network ports: Ensure the necessary ports for Rocket League are open on your router. (You can find the required ports on the Epic Games support site or through a quick online search.)

4. Account Verification:

  • Inactive Epic Games account: If you haven’t used your Epic Games account in a while, it might be inactive. Try logging in to the Epic Games website to reactivate it.

If none of these solutions work, it’s time to contact Epic Games Support:
