Here’s how to activate your new Petro-Points card in Canada:

1. Online:

  1. Go to the Petro-Points website: Visit the Petro-Points activation page at https://www.petro-canada.ca/.

  2. Enter your card information: Provide the Petro-Points card number and other required details.

  3. Create an account: Follow the prompts to create your Petro-Points account. You’ll need to provide some personal information and create a username and password.

  4. Agree to terms: Review and agree to the Petro-Points program terms and conditions.

  5. Activate your card: Complete the activation process. You should receive a confirmation that your card is now active.

2. Through the Petro-Canada app:

  1. Download the app: If you don’t already have it, download the Petro-Canada app from the App Store or Google Play.

  2. Open the app: Launch the Petro-Canada app on your mobile device.

How do I register/activate a Petro‑Points card?

Though Petro-Canada have discontinued the production of new plastic cards, if you already have a card you picked up at a station, you can still activate and use it. Just activate online or with our Petro‑Canada app.

If you don’t have a Petro‑Points account, you can browse the rewards on the Discover Petro‑Points page.

If you do have an account, log in and browse our Rewards page.

While you can redeem points for dollars off just about any purchase you make in-store or at the pump, you can not redeem points for purchases of tobacco, vaping products, alcohol and alcohol-related gift cards. Also not available for milk products in New Brunswick. But everything else is up for grabs

How do I redeem my Petro‑Points?

There are 3 simple ways to check your account balance:

  1. Log in to your online account. Your balance will be displayed at the top of the page.
  2. On your receipt. Your Petro‑Points balance appears on the bottom of your Petro‑Canada receipt.
  3. Download the Petro‑Canada app. Simply log in with your online account information and your balance will be displayed at the top of the page.
