To sign in with your TV provider, navigate to “Account” in the menu within the Nat Geo TV app, select “TV Provider” and follow the on-screen instructions.
You will receive step by step instructions to verify your account by using any computer or mobile device. Your TV-connected device will provide you with a unique 7-character activation code that you will need in the verification process.
Follow the steps below to verify your account:
- Visit nationalgeographic.com/tv/activate on your computer or mobile device
- Enter the activation code from your TV screen and select Continue
- Select your TV provider
- Sign in with your TV provider
- If your sign in is successful, your full episode playback or live stream will play automatically
If the activation code doesn’t work, the code has expired. To receive a new code, select the “refresh code” button from the “ACTIVATE” screen on the TV-connected device.
If the code does not refresh, exit the “ACTIVATE” screen by pressing “back” on your remote, and select “Verify Your TV Provider” under the “Settings” menu.
Once you have the new code, follow the steps above to activate.
Is the Apple Remote app for iOS compatible with the Nat Geo TV app on Apple TV?
Yes. Follow the steps below to activate:
- Download “Remote” application in the Apple App Store from your iOS device
- Launch the “Remote” application
- Turn on Home Sharing
- Enter the Apple ID and password that you are currently using with your Apple TV
- Once Home Sharing is enabled, the Apple TV icon will appear on your iOS device
- Select the Apple TV icon
- In the top right corner of your device, select the icon with 4 arrows
Your iOS device should now act as a remote for your Apple TV.
How do I sign out of my TV Provider?
Please note that if you sign out, you will have to repeat the activation process the next time you access the live stream and some on demand content.

- Select option to “SIGN OUT” [TV provider]
- Confirm that you want to sign out by selecting “SIGN OUT”
On Mobile and Tablet
- Go to the “Account” section in the Nat Geo TV app
- Select option for “Manage”
- On the TV provider screen, select the option to “SIGN OUT”
On a streaming device
- Go to the “Account” section in the Nat Geo TV app
- Select option for TV provider.
- On the TV provider screen, select the option to “SIGN OUT”
