The 2024 Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest took place at the iconic Nathan’s Famous flagship restaurant in Coney Island, New York.

This annual tradition, which has been held since 1916, features competitive eaters devouring hot dogs and buns within a time limit. Here are the highlights:

  • Women’s Contest: Miki Sudo set a new record by consuming 51 hot dogs and buns in just 10 minutes, securing her 10th career win.
  • Men’s Contest: Notably, 16-time champion Joey Chestnut did not compete this year. The event ran from 11 am to 1 pm, with pre-show festivities starting at 10 am.

It’s always fascinating to witness these incredible feats of gastronomic prowess! 🌭🏆.

Due to a contractual issue with Major League Eating, Joey Chestnut will not be participating in the tournament this year. As a result, he will not have the chance to win the 17th Mustard Belt. The door (and the oesophagus) will be opened for Geoff Esper, the 2023 runner-up.
