Medicare Open Enrollment 2025 Schedule News

Medicare Open Enrollment 2025 Schedule News

The Medicare Open Enrollment Period for 2025 will be from October 15 to December 7, 2024. This is the time when you can:

1. Join, switch, or drop a Medicare Advantage Plan. This includes switching from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan or vice versa.

2. Join, switch, or drop a Part D prescription drug plan.

3. Switch from one Medicare Advantage Plan to another.

4. Make changes to your Medicare coverage for the following year (2025).

It’s important to review your current coverage and compare it to other available options during this time. Plans can change their costs, benefits, and provider networks each year, so it’s important to make sure your plan still meets your needs.

How do people know if they need to change plans?

People in a Medicare health or prescription drug plan should always review the materials their plans send them, like the “Evidence of Coverage” (EOC) and “Annual Notice of Change” (ANOC). If their plans are changing, they should make sure their plans will still meet their needs for the following year. If they’re satisfied that their current plans will meet their needs for next year and it’s still being offered, they don’t need to do anything.

Additional Notes:

• If you’re new to Medicare, you may have other enrollment periods available to you

• There is also a Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period from January 1 to March 31 each year. This allows you to switch from one Medicare Advantage Plan to another or to return to Original Medicare

Remember, it’s important to take advantage of the Open Enrollment Period to make sure you have the Medicare coverage that’s right for you in 2025.
